While he wouldnt be a cert in my team, I think McAnarney is a cert in Bantys teams.

agree alot with the teams posted but cant see why alot of people have left out cian ward. I think banty has learned from his mistakes in the league and cian ward will be switched to our main free taker and 45/50 kicks not only this but he is possibly our most prolific goal scorer of the last 2 years.
my team to lin out is:
1 gallagher
2harrington 3 k.reilly 4burke (biggest workrate of the league imo)
5mcanarney 6b.menton 7s.kenny
8p byrne 9 e.reilly
10g reilly 11walsh 12s.bray
13gilsenan 14joe 15 c.ward
reason why walsh is no11 imo to act as a3rd midfield who has pace as i think this is where most of our possesion is lost.

Stephen Bray took one of the frees last Monday when he came on (from the hands, central enough, no pressure), missed on the near side. Eoin Reilly took a 45 (with Cian Ward on the bench) and made a you know what of that too. I can see it as another area that could cost us dearly in the summer.

Most opposing managers would be only delighted to see one of the most prolific goalscorers and one of the best dead ball kickers in the country on the bench. If Ward gets the ball played into space in front of him he will deliver a good return for the team....not as if we are busting at the seams with talent

Clonycavan Man
Clonycavan Man is the name given to a well-preserved Iron Age bog body found in Clonycavan, County Meath, Ireland in March 2003. He has been calculated to have been approximately 1.76 metres (5 ft 9 in) in height, and is remarkable for the "gel" in his hair.

Only his torso and upper abdomen are preserved. He was found in a peat harvesting machine, which was possibly responsible for the severing of his lower body.[1] He had a squashed nose and crooked teeth. Pores are visible on the nose, and he had a thin beard.

Sounds to me like a typical Meath Footballer, The nose Teeth and Gel in the hair a dead give away

If everybody's fit and in the right form that's our best team. Cian Ward needs to be in the team for his frees alone

Is there any word on Paddy Gilsenan and his injury?
And can someone confirm to me what the story is with Tom Walsh please.

Would anybody ever consider that Graham Reilly could make a good corner forward?

County: Meath

I think we would be wasting one of our better ball carriers by putting him into the corner.

Cian Ward and Gilsenan are two pretty good corner forwards combined with big Joe on the edge of the square
Thats a pretty good full forward line Leave Reilly out on the 40 he is needed out there

Ziggy
I think you could be on to something here. If he started in the corner and was given a licence to move between the 45 and 13 metre lines where he has space he could be lethal.

In modern times half fowards have chase back after defenders and Biggy just hasn't been doing that lately.

Apparently Meath had a test run in Dr.Cullen park Car low last weekend to familiarise themselves with the venue. John Evans is 'giving a hand ' at coaching, with Tyrone Martin McElkennon still involved, and our Trevor Giles as forwards coach..Add GG, and Banty...that's a lot of sideline 'mentoring..my opinion is as long as there are no egos involved, it might work, in similar way to other 'leading edge ' counties. Just hope the fitness levels are peaking, and injuries are minimised
