Trim can have a great shout depending how they bounce back from relegation, Kells are the favourites starting off then other mentions deserve to to go Na Fianna and Ballinabrackey

This is how I see intermediate going.
It could (and probably will) end up completely different but thats what make the intermediate championship so good.

Group A
Gaeil Colmcille v Trim
Longwood v Ballinlough
St. Colmcilles bye

Gaeil Colmcille will come through this group top with Ballinlough taking second place.

Group B
Dunderry v St. Michaels
Syddan v Na Fianna
Clann na Gael bye
Na Fianna will beat Dunderry to make up for last year and finish top.
Syddan will be second in the group.

Group C
Carnaross v Ballivor
Castletown v Ballinabrackey
St. Ultans bye

Carnaross and Castletown will come out of group 3.

The final I think will be between Kells and Castletown provided they don't meet in the semi final.
Kells to win.

Kells to top group A with Trim coming out of it as well, Na Fianna could shade group B with Clann naGael behind them, Castletown or Ballinabrackey for top spot in group C, Ballivor will be dangerous too.

Castletown is a team that I would not rate at all to win a championships. there are at least 5 teams stronger. Ballinlough, Kells, Clann na nGael, Ballinabrackey, Na Fianna and Trim are stronger in my opinion. Will be an interesting championship to say the least.

On paper this between Na Fianna and Kells, but like an earlier comment you would be better off picking a horse in the grand nat

Think it would be good for football if Gael Colmcille, Na Fianna or Colmcilles won given their size but wouldn't begrudge any club promotion. 2 clubs promoted?

rath_togh only one club going up from inter, no relgation, with two teams up from junior and i think no relagation from senior either.

Why anyone but carnaross? good a chance as anyone, going fairly well this year so far and good mix of youth and experience! kells and na fianna do look like the top contenders at the minute. balinlough looking strong too.

Group A is the ''group of death''. There is a lot of strong teams in it. I wouldn't even expect us to get out of the group, never mind win the championship. But I hope I am proven wrong!

My predictions to get out of the groups
Group A
Trim
St.Colmcilles
Ballinlough
Kells
Longwood:
KELLS, BALLINLOUGH, TRIM

Group B
St.Michael's
Syddan
Dunderry
Clan na nGael (Athboy)
Na Fianna (Enfield):
DUNDERRY, NA FIANNA, CLAN NA nGEAL

Group C
St.Ultan's
Castletown
Carnaross
Ballivor
Ballinabrackey :
CASTLETOWN, BALLIVOR

I think, Casteltown are in with a great chance. I know they are shipping some losses in the league but I feel playing against Senior teams in Div 1 will stand to them very well. If they get that win against Ballinabracky in R1 then it might just be the catalyst. I think it should be a good grade this year and probably a lot of teams could win it such as Trim, Dunderry, Ballinlough etc but Castletown would be my dark horse.

Kells will either come back stronger or just fall apart but judging from their results in the league, they wouldnt be a bad shout for the Intermediate championship. However league and championship are totally different things.
Castletown and Na Fianna will be difficult to beat and Ballinlough will also prove tough
i wonder how will Trim will do will it be a return to senior for them or will they lack confidence and desire after dropping down from Senior
Whoever gets out of group 1 should be favourites.

Gaeil Colmcille Castletown final

From what I know only 2 teams from each group go through to the quarter/semi finals. Group 1 looks tough alright but so are groups 2 and 3 in their own way.

Group A
Trim
St.Colmcilles
Ballinlough
Kells
Longwood:
Potential winners:
Trim->Some younger lads coming through could bring new life to a falling team over the last few years.
Ballinlough-> I like the look of them, have the experience but running out of time so need to do it soon.
Kells-> Always there abouts but I think Trim and Ballinlough will top the group.
Longwood and St. Colmcillles to struggle.

Group B
St.Michael's
Syddan
Dunderry
Clan na nGael (Athboy)
Na Fianna (Enfield):
Another tough group, 3 of the 5 remaining qualifiers from last years group stages,(Athboy, Dunderry and Na Fianna).
Dunderry-> Have made it to the quarter and semi finals for the last few years. I don't think they will make it that far this year.
They have a great young lad in Coogan but seemed to be a big player for them last year and is still minor so its a bit soon to be
expecting him to be a main player on an intermediate winning team.
Syddan-> I have a feeling Syddan could do well this year. If EOB gets them organised they could get out of the group. I expect they will.
Clan na G->I think they are over rileint on Shane mac and Geraghty. Won't get out of the group.
Na Fianna-> I fancy them to go all the way.
Michaels-> Word on the street is they have lost a lot of players.
Group C
St.Ultan's
Castletown
Carnaross
Ballivor
Ballinabrackey :
Castletown-> I Castletown learn how to get through a close game and win they would be in with a shout. If they win their first game I expect them to progress, but if not they could be close to relegation again.
Carnaross-> I like the look of Carnaross this year. Looking at reports on hoganstand they seem to be putting up big scores but John L isn't getting that many. This can only be a good thing for Carnaross.
Ballinabrackey-> A Battling team and will be in with a shout of getting to semis but won't win it.
Ultans-> Relegation
Ballivor-> Need a year or two at this grade.

Winners Na Fianna
