Yes they were an ageing team I'll give you that , but come on u can blame a manager for a 1or 2 point loss but when is 17 points the players hv to take a look at them selves.
Just one question is ollie still playing for carnaross ??

swansong.

Im not totally blaming the manager. But the team he put out in that final left a lot to be desired. They probably punched abover their weight a bit in getting to the final that year.

Look there's no such thing as punching above your weight at inter level theres nothin between teams coming up from junior and the teams at the top . Kwood for example final one year relegated the next yr ,clan na Gael relegation play off one yr 1/4final the next year. That's why inter is impossible to predict cos you can throw a blanket over all the teams .

swansong your still missing my point .why not congratulate c-ross on their success on getting to finals beating teams like kells, ashbourne, duleek and st colmcilles
on route and have a go at other small clubs eg meath hill, bb ,cng, longwood, syddan, castletown and slane who have forgotten what an inter final looks like.not to mention their far bigger populations.as for ollie heard hes gone, but bet you if they are short the boots wont be to far away.

SETANTAMEATH, Carnaross didnt beat Ashbourne on the way to their final. Syddan were beaten in intermediate final replay in 2005 and won the intermediate in 1999 with a Feis cup success in between, so i think they have a fair idea what its like to be in finals. Longwood went from Junior B to Intermediate in the space of couple years so again they know Pairc Tailteann fairly well and Castletown narrowly beaten by strong Ashbourne team in 2007.

Look I'm not ere to have a go at anyone . But ur lookin for praise for gettin hammered in 2 finals . You make it sound like carnaross have been doing somethin special just by keeping their IFC status but wit players like ollie murphy,John L,the nugents, ollies brother plus 2 or 3 Meath minors over the yrs they surely should have picked up a championship

Carnaross do very well with the resources they have and in PJ Gillic and Ollie Murphy they provided the county with two outstanding players, like all rural clubs though they are very dependant on a few families to keep the show on the road... Commaskeys, Nugents, Magees have been the back bone for the last few years but some new players are going to come through from their U-21 sucess last year and I think they will do quite well over the next couple of years. The Brogans, Donoghues, Mc Donnell, Decky Reilly, Shane Casserly, Stein Carpenter, Cian Gillic, John Plunkett, Cillian Commaskey and young Mc Donagh etc. will all have a big part to play in the next few years.

SETANTAMEATH. You can hardly say meath hill would have a bigger population than carnaross they are only a small rural club like carnaross you have placed them in a list a long with slane longwood castletown and cng all of which are based in a town or a small village and probably should be doing better with the number that live in them areas.

your still missing tne point ,ok put it like this there are a alot of bigger clubs than c ross would love to have been as competitive as them in the last 20 years.the year ashbourne won inter c ross beat them first round and 03 beat them second round.

Setantameath, Carnaross beat Ashbourne in 01 and 03 in championship, your not gonna try tell me that them Ashbournes team were even remotly similar to there team that won the intermediate in 07? Maybe two Players might have played in 01 and 07 for them. Carnaross were way out of their league in 2010 final and winning a lower grade u-21 (As good as an achievement as it was for small parish) wont drag them back to an intermediate final anytime soon

with Ballivor back in the intermediate grade do you think its a good bet at 8/1 to win it out they will just about making it through to the knockout stage, also id be surprised if trim wont go straight back up in their first year. andews is focused on winning the hurling so he will be taken some players off the football team i reckon

my tenner is on casltetown at 12/1,kells seen the headlines to early in the final last year and wont recover after that beating for awhile,Ballinlough have'nt got the forwards, dunderry seem to be gettin on abit in years, carnaross are one to watch in the future but not this year, Ultans and Trim could be dark horse's an will push hard this year. but at 12/1 for castletown playing division one football will stand to them so GET ON.
