I too was at both games and you're right, they are two very different teams. It's a hard one to call to be fair. The Trim Ballinabrackey game was as tough a game as I saw in a long time, I'd say there is some sore bodies today! Ballinabrackey put it up to Trim for long periods and were very aggressive in their tackling. However they just didn't have that stand out forward who could cause Trim much problems.
I also thought the referee was extremely poor. The referee in Trim for the Na Fianna wasn't a whole lot better either. Why wasn't one of our intercounty referees on duty at both games?

Getting back to the IFC final who will be the favourites going into the game?

So Castletown are out, Well beaten really by a limited enough Na Fianna side that should they win it out will not stike much fear into the Senior sides.

I am worried now as I said whoever beat Castletown will win it but after watching yesterday my great record of predictions will really be tested. Na Fianna dont have enough to do it but I am not one to jump ship so the team that bet the Mighty Castletown get my all important vote

Glenny. Would not say that Castletown were well beaten by Na Fianna at all. They were lucky that they had that goal lead as Castletown opened them up at ease for periods in the second half. They probably lacked that clinical finishing but if I was from Na Fianna I would have been very happy to hear the final whistle. Castletown can certainly hold their heads up high and if they are to take anything from this game it that they are not too far away.

May be so my feeling was at 9 points up Na Fianna settled for a win and sat back and Castletown played some nice football but the result was really never in doubt from half time on. Cant understand why Castletown changed so many positions up front from the Ballinlogh game and using a forward out round the middle really back fired as Na Fianna corner back got 2 or maybe 3 points.

Remember I was for the Castletown boys

Well done to Na Fianna yesterday on the win over us, on the day they were just the better team. Would like to wish both them and Trim all the best in the final.

Im glad you touched on the referees stonewall,to say they were poor is an understatement, anybody that fell in the castletown/na fianna match got a free,no intensity in that game whatsoever,trim/bracks game was real championship stuff but yet again the ref was poor on both sides, trim had a great game plan, everytime carroll got the ball he was fouled and didnt allow any momentum to build plus 1-15 trim were strong, all good honest footballers.Back to the referees, way too much use of the whistle in both games.

Best of luck to trim and enfield in final. Trim I feel will have the experienced men to get over the line, good result for them yesterday against a fancied Balinabrackey side. Na Fianna have the players to turn senior at some stage in the next few years but they might need to lose a final before winning one. Beat Castletown by 4, were on top around centre areas. Castletown could not keep up at times. Don't agree with poster who says Castletown are unfit for this level though. They made na fianna look average enough for last 15 mins.

I was at both game syesterday and I would like to play credit to all 4 teams. What I saw was real old style football and everything was given by all sides. Looking at it now I feel Trim would have to be favourites. Should be a good final.

From a standard of football point of view it doesnt look good as Trim were very poor in the senior last year with basically the same team. although in fairness na fianna have a few nice footballers on their side and might make a decent enough senior team over a couple of years.

Thanks Rayalfan1.
Yes I have counted them again and I have no problem in admitting that yes I was right!
Only 8 players that started against Duleek in the relegation play off last year started against Ballinabrackey on Sunday.
That my friend is a FACT, the internet is great for researching stuff like that. Maybe you should try it sometime

So after Castletown getting knocked out (thank god, all they did was talk themselves up witch made people start giving them credit, na fianna eased off and should have won by more) who is everyone going for. I think it's very close. Maybe the older experienced players trim have might see them over the line. A few older faces prob do deserve silverware after never winning a senior but they were a top team in it for years.

Im going for the 2 Town teams on Sunday,Trim will do enough to win by 2-3 points unless Ollie lewis is playing but i believe his career could be over with a shoulder injury,Na fianna are a nice team going forward but Trim will have a plan for that, also i think Na fiannas full back line are a very weak link and again trim will exploit it.NOM by 3-4 points in the Senior final, bust best of luck to the 4 teams in the finals !

The injuries for na fianna will probably swing it in favour of Trim but should be tight.

Congratulations to Na Fianna. It was an entertaining game to watch, some good points from play by both teams and plenty of buzz in the stand.
