Who do you think will win the Intermediate Championship this year? Will Trim be favorites to go straight back up? Will Clann na Gael take a chance of reaching their first Intermediate final? Maybe Ballivor will strike again and go for the two in a row.. What ya reckon??

ah sure its wide open. Trim, Kells. the lough and maybe Clanns would "first seeds". Drawing from another poster injuries and emigration will have a big impact. I'l be interested to see if castletown can build on their A league success last year. Going to stick my neck out and say Kells

Like picking the winner at Aintree. I'd feel it between Gaeil Colmcille or Na Fianna though

HA, yes it is a tough one to call. i think ballinlough on the big day are just short of two scoring forwards which is a pity because they have some great fighting footballers and a decent defence..
castletown are on a high from their league final and have a few good footballers to bring them very close.
i think its kells to lose but they can so easily fall apart , jody has done a good job with them.
will be intersting to see how ballivor get on.

Kells should be fairly strong this year.
Castletown should benefit from operating out of div 1, athough if they get off to a poor start it could have a negative effect if the morale drops.

If Castletown win their first game their confidence will only grow throughout the championship .
On the other hand if they lose and Put that together wit being beat most weeks in the they could be back in relagation trouble .
It's a fine line between 1/4 final and relagation in inter

As ever this is the most open of all grades in Meath - even more so than the fiercely competitive JFC which is made up of a lot of teams with no hope of outright success.

Think Kells may have been a bit of a flash in the pan and don't think they'll do the job this year.

Ballivor are serious dark horses as they were always Intermediate level anyway having farcically being regarded Junior after the Kildalkey fiasco. Could they do a Tones on it?

If Ballinlough can show a bit more cutting edge up tops then they're also in with a big shout. Having Byrne for the full season will certainly help this year.

Not sure what the position is with the Ultans and players emigrating but they've got a top class manager in place now which you'd imagine will galvanise things. Do they have the squad though....

Na Fianna, Dunderry, The Bracks, Castletown, Cillies - you could probably make a case for them all. Very very open and difficult to call in Jan without a ball being kicked in anger yet

I cant see kells going to another final this year. I thought they got a bit lucky last year you could say they might have an average team but they will hover over intermediate for along time yet. Ballivor if fit could be able to go along way as i heard from another local man that Derek Doran will be able to play after April so that would be a great boost to their camp. it will take a few years for the bracks to go to the top end of the season they have a strong team and wont go down without a fight but on match day it seems to much for them.will the new format work in this grade id like to see it work but cant see it happen canyou?

It was just a thought... has the county board make the right call or are they going the wrong way about it?

well in fairness the origional proposal the county board came up with was totally rediculous, bringing senior to 18 while dropping inter to 12 and bringing junior to 24, made absolutly no sense and was shot down by delgates at the meeting. i think myself bring the inter and senior to 18 is a positive step.

Think if Ballinlough can keep there nerve, they can do it. Up to themselves, they seem to suffer from too much self belief at times. Kells likewise. Over confident teams have never won a championship in my books, id be more of a beliver of who ever wants it the most will win it.

I think Trim are in with a good shout after coming down from senior last year. Should be interesting to see how they get on this year.
