Just a word on the under-age system..

If we don't have the money how do other counties with less revenue like Longford have a good under-age structure?? I'm not buying into this theory..

Re 1910, that was the year Kerry refused to travel to Dublin for the final to play Louth. Swings and roundabouts for the Wee County I hasten to suggest.

Meath underaged football was making good progress with Stan Gibneys squad from under 14 up until the Meath County Board got rid of him this year Remember they (Stans Team) won the under 17 Blizz in Darver Co. Louth last summer and the year before his under 16 squad gave Louth's under 16's a right hiding and most of these Louth lads really ran through thiis year's Meath Miniors last Saturday. What kind of a Managers CV has Dalton Did he ever have any success

i agree totally with Scarraboy. That is not meaths strongest possible panel too many players are from south of the county there is too much politics in meath football! Stan Gibney doing a great job with the team for years winning everything and knowing most of the players in the county and would no doubt have picked the strongest panel possible. For the minors this year ive seen lads who have been on the panel in previous years not asked back after the first trial and too many of the best players being dropped and too many useless u17 players being left on the panel for too long. Disgraceful!

Why was the Meath number 10 and 11 taken off last Saturday? By far meaths two best players and to be honest I was glad to see the back of them. Who is the number 11 anyway he wasnt best pleased to be taken off as the water bottle found out?

Well unless the get Kilkenny in the back door system I wouldn't be too confident of them beating any of the others

10 was not knackered and he was flying around the middle and for them to take him off when the game was der for the taken was a joke especially when there were players on the pitch that were non existent

There is a draw on this week for the losing teams from saturday last. I'm not sure of the exact system- the losers I think are guaranteed two more games at least- but two teams will emerge from the losers groups to join Kildare, Dublin, Louth, Laois, Offaly and Wexford to go into the quarter final draw. After that it's knockout until the final where the losing finalist goes into the All-Ireland quarter final while the winner goes into the semi final. The losing teams who emerge are supposed to play someone other than who they played in the first round. For instance should Meath emerge they can't play Louth again unless it was in the final.
Though last year they made a mistake and had Kildare drawn against Dublin when Kildare had already beaten them in the first round. This led to another three games between Kildare and Dublin with Kildare eventually winning in the final replay in Navan only to lose to longford 4 days later in the semi-final. Longford went on to win Leinster by beating an Offaly team that had beaten them by 19 points in Round 1. Hope that helps.

RE: After the game yesterday I had a couple of minutes to spare so I decided to visit the Louth GAA museum. I really love what you've done with the place BallsMcQ, that whole 'Minimalist Look' where 'less is more' really seems to work for you. As I sat there in the solitude and emptiness surrounded only by the bare walls and empty cabinets, with nothing but the ticking of the clock and the distant whining of the local natives to disturb the peace, I was really able gather my thoughts and sit there with my eyes closed in peaceful bliss as I reflected on the long and glorious heritage and tradition that is Meath football....

Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well at least what is in it is rightfully ours and we are very proud of what is in it. Doubt Meath put last years Leinster on display and if they did well then I actually feel sorry for them.
