I was concerned when I seen the scoreline but by all accounts the starting 15 done well in the 1st half. If Givney only came on at half time who was midfield in the 1st half? How did martin dunne do? Where was Gilsenan? We need a keeper who can vary kickouts and not just drive a ball 60 yards.

1st half O Meara McLoughlin Dunne Tighe McEnroe A Clarke F Flanagan D McKiernan Leddy M Reilly J Brady R Flanagan Tierney Dunne
2nd Half Millar Barkey K Clarke Hayes Meehan Podge McCutcheon D Reilly Murray B Reilly M McKeever N McDermott Givney Keating
. Im missing a corner forward of the first and a half back from the second i think. Was impressed mostly by Dec McKiernan. He will surely be in contention to start v Fermanagh at midfield.

Declan McKiernan has been in flying form in club games lately. I hear Givney was excellent against Swad at the weekend.

From the headline on the home page it looks like all the cavan traffic will all be on one route through Newtownbutler, lisnaskea and Maguiresbridge into Enniskille. Congestion or what????

I dont read much into challenge games but see Mayo beat Cavan 5-12 to 0-16 last wkd, however Cavan were winning at half time and made 15 changes at switchover, sounds like yas are gona have few team changes from the team that beat Armagh,Declan McKernan is likely to come into midfield while possiblity Jack Brady and Martin Reilly could start in forwards.
I see the Ulster Council are pricing the East stand(cinema side) at Brewster next week at 20 pound or €25,can see alot of supporters being very unhappy at this, same price as covered stand, theres no minor match plus it is a first round game...its same standard as Pat Mc Grane in clones which is never that price for first round....dunno what reason is for this price.......

Say the team will be something like this
1 O Meara 2 J. Mc Loughlin 3 R. Dunne 4 K. Brady 5 J. McEnroe 6 A.Clarke 7 F.Flanagan 8 K Clarke 9 D. Givney 10 R Flanagan 11 D.Mc Kiernan 12 Martin Reilly 13Jack Brady 14 M.Dunne 15 E.Keating
Won't be as defencive as the Armagh game so fitness will count. Hyland has plenty on the bench as well, not going to name players regarding on or off form Alan O Mearas article has made me think it's wrong to talk about players but I'm sure it's no harm to say who might line out . I'd say Cavan by at least 4-5 points. Won't get to the game be out of the country. Anyone one know might it be streamed online?

You've left out one of the best players of the year for us: Mackey.

One thing about Terry Hyland, he's loyal to his players, so I doubt we'll see too much changes. I'd imagine it will be something along the lines of
1. Gilsenan: O'Meara's playing junior this year, would he be ineligible if he plays senior championship? Gilsenan did well the last day, should justify him keeping his place. 2. McLoughlin: shoe in, probably pick up Paul Ward. 3. Rory Dunne 4. Killian Clarke 5. McEnroe 6. Alan Clarke 7. Damian Reilly 8. Givney 9. Declan McKiernan: Mossy looks like he won't make it. 10. Cian Mackey: Cavan's most improved player in 2013 11. Martin Reilly: Has had a solid year. 12: Fergal Flanagan: Does his job well. 13: Jack Brady: Good scoring threat when left inside, we're going to need as much firepower as possible and take all our chances, because Fermanagh will be heavily defensive, I think Jack gives us a option considering that Dunne and Keating will be watched carefully. This could be just the game for Jack to shine. 14: Keating: Turning into one of the best full forwards in Ulster 15: Dunne: Be interesting to see how he performs the next day, he may be double marked, but as I say, that gives Jack Brady a serious chance to kick scores.

I agree that mentioning player's names in the negative is inappropriate. I generally avoid that as a rule but will admit that I got drawn into it prior to the Armagh game. Apologies to anyone that I may have offended. Having said that, I still feel we could have fielded a stronger team that day but would not change it now. Why? It's the age old rule that you don't change a winning team unless you have to. Those 15 have a special bond now having performed so well together and it's up other players to fight their way on to the team. That's healthy and should add to the quality and intensity of training and match performance. This will be my last pre Fermanagh match post so I wish all of the players and mgnt the very best in Brewster. We may be critically tough at times but we're passionate about our county and fully behind them. An Cabhan abu!

I'm nervous about this one but most posters here I'd say have the team here's mine 1 Gilsenan 2 J. Mc Loughlin 3 R. Dunne 4 K. Clarke all 3 justify selection Clarke is now versatile enough to go to midfield if needed K. Brady, Tighe ,Hayes , Reilly on the bench all able to provide cover in defence 5 J. McEnroe 6 A.Clarke 7 R. Flanagan 8 D. McKiernan I'm a big fan of this player think he's underrated 9 D. Givney Clarke out of defence or Mc Cutcheon give other options 10 F. Flanagan worthy of his place in half forward line to pick up pacy half backs 11 C Mackey. Mc Keever on bench when legs tire 12 Martin Reilly Barry Reilly gives another option. 13Jack Brady look forward to seeing him class act 14 M.Dunne great player will be closely marshalled Tierney on bench for another option 15 E.Keating Givney can come in here if needed but I think we are going to see a big game out of Keating
I expect Cavan will need the bench and I hope use it well not doing so was our downfall last time out against Fermanagh. If its not working fix it we can't afford to let Fermanagh open up a lead on us. We are a much improved side, I'm sure the lads have put in the work in training these last few weeks we can win this one.

Dont expect very many changes. I suppose Jack Brady and Martin Reilly will push for a start and probably Declan McKienan at midfield but fellas like Killian Brady/ Niall McDermott did a very good job against Armagh. Wouldent be surprised if we have an unchanged team. Remember it is a 20 man game nowadays and starting or finishing the right men is also a big call. Anyway best of luck to all the lads, I know you will do us and your jersey proud!!

1. Gilsenan - O'Mara will be first choice next year I think, but for now Gilsenan is there on form, was solid against Armagh and could potentially be important in kicking long range frees. 2. McLoughlin - We now have a potentially county standard man marker, haven't had once since... Hannon? 3. Dunne - Commanded things well the last day out, missed pickup before the Armagh goal aside. 4. Clarke - Very solid the last day out. Seems to grow into games. 5. McEnroe - All action, versatile and would be confident having him anywhere across the back 6. 6. Alan Clarke - A few fouls too many but one of our more experienced players. 7. Ronan Flanagan - Won't have forgotten what was done to him when he came on v Fermanagh in the league, big performance expected. 8. Damien O'Reilly - Offers more mobility and than Declan McKiernan. Fermanagh will target him again. Could have walked v Armagh. Needs to keep his head. 9. Givney - Didn't get enough credit for his performance the last day. He provided the pass for at least 4 of Martin Dunne's scores. He's starting to mature, hopefully he can gain more primary possession than the last day. 10. Mackey - Has the ability to make us tick, will be targeted by Fermanagh as a dangerman. 11. Jack Brady - The best possible play maker to unlock the Fermanagh defence. Has the knack of getting a score just when a team needs it. If he is fit, he has to play IMO. 12. Feargal Flanagan - The man you want for a dogfight. Answered critics against Armagh, will do any job asked of him with 110% honesty and effort. 13. McDermott - Goes about his business quietly and is slowly turning into a very good asset. Gave McKeever a torrid time. Can't understand how some people haven't named him in their team. A confidence player so hopefully he starts well. 14. Dunne - Will obviously be singled out for special attention by Fermanagh. Nobody expects another scoring spree but let's hope he can make the most of the limited chances he will get. We'll need him to nail every scorable free. 15. Keating - A genuine intercounty standard ball winner, ran himself into the ground v Armagh too. He needs to be less selfish and if he's going to continue to be selfish he needs to be ruthless. He was barely a minute on the field before they were tearing his jersey in the league game so he'll have a tough day at the office.
I'd drop Brady from the last day only to make room for Jack. This game will be very close, there's not much between the teams. We will need to put in a mature performance, one brainfart or moment of madness could lose this game. Nobody will take Fermanagh for granted and no matter how many happy memories we have in Brewster it's still their home ground. Best of luck to all involved.

Good luck to all on Sunday. Unfortunately wont be there as i have 3 small kids and the hassle and traffic wont be worth it as it would be too long of a day on the kids. I still think the Ulster council should have moved this tie to Clones. I know it was down as a home tie for Fermanagh but there are times when commence sense should prevail. Rant aside C'mon the Breffni !!
