Can t beleive Mckeever did nt make the team. Ronan Flanagan must be playing very well.

I expect our half backs to bring their shootin boots & not be caught wanting because Armagh will let them up alday..

Heard that last night, also Kevin Meehan Niall Murray Kevin Tierney and Jack Brady also on the bench. Killian Brady on at wing back, Ronan Flanagan CHB , Niall Mc Dermott CHF and Clarke sweeper. Was the manager selectors watching the national league at all at the performances of their selected best 15 or is this based on performance in trainning as in those on the bench are just not cuttin it in training? It's a very interesting selection. Hyland just can't see past his 21s. If you notice the Galway management are not fast tracking their winning 21 s Cavan on the other hand are throwing them in burning them out and discarding some fine 23-29 year olds in the process. Not looking forward to Sunday.

Can't figure out why Martin Reilly is dropped, one of our best performers in the league. Terry seems to have his favourites, the best example the playing of the u21 keeper, when we have a better keeper in James Reilly. Mark McKeever dropped also? I take it Mossy Corr is still injured? Anyone know the story?

Would people even consider that some of the players mentioned could be possibly carrying injuries, before going on a rant. Armagh are without 5 players.

Spot on there slash, i have yet to see the two flanagans produce in a cavan senior jersey surely mccutheon and mckeever should be in. Martin reilly is a great little footballer but i remember terry saying once that jack brady is a rare type of footballer one that only comes along once every 20 years so he is always going to play under terry, some of these lads didnt even cut it with the U21 this year in my opinion.

I would have started James Reilly, John McCutcheon, Mossy Corr, Martin Reilly, Barry Reilly and Mark McKeever, provided their all fit.

i cant see this going well, no martin Reilly?? I see really see how r flanagan deserves a starting place... he's barely played any ball this year! IMO we have to sacrifice a corner forward to play sweeper! and f flanagan must only be there o man mark a kernon...

Disappointing but predictable selection, maybe Armagh will agree to play just 50mins and we'll be fine. Blatant favouritism.

Jack Brady; don't see the obsession with him tbh. Decent player, good for U 21 level, yet to really even see him dominate a senior club championship game.
R Flanagan; same; marked him in a club game in last years league, he was nothing hectic for a guy that's been on the county panel for the last number of years.
Maybe they will produce the goods. Hopefully. Armagh are in a building phase too, so that may even things out to some extent. but they do have those couple of players who are just a cut above anybody on our team that can win a match on their own.

Bizarre team selection indeed, agree there are favourites selected also. I don't think that will be the starting team though. R Flanagan better not strt passing the ball backwards! Goalie better be more effective too. Think F Flanagan will be on Kernan to leave J Brady inside. He is a corner forward, when played in position can be ruthless. Mc Loughlin will do his usual fine job, and we need K Clarkes height . the critics of the U-21 players would do well to remember the league games Cavan won this year and who was playing. Mc Enroe either, didn't do much with Ramor, missed a few games, injured and disciplined. Maybe there's players showing well in training we don't know about? ANyway, hope the team does well., and that the lads who feel they themselves should be but aren't on the panel shut up here and just get behind the team and show support on Sunday. For what it's worth I don't think that;s the team they intend playing at all. All media games at the moment!

Lads why so negative .Agree in the main with team selection. These u21 s are not thrown in at the deep end as 4 out of the 5 played in last years championship. Also J Brady played both games we won in league and FFlanagan and KClarke also played some part .We need to keep adding at least 1 or 2 every year. For me Martin Reilly had a poor league. He was taken off in most games he started. McDermot is a natural forward and deserves to be there. Glad to see givney at mid field.Lets get behind the team. Agree with another poster expect 3 to 4 positional changes and a no 25 playing .Thats Hyland style. Come on cavan.

no disrespect but the u21 keeper is not a good choice. He was rash in his tackle on the cork forward in the u21 semi this yr when the game was tied and was at fault ( in my opinion) for the goal in the ulster final. Rumour has it James Reilly didnt attend the 2 day session in athlone because of work commitments. I wonder is he being punished for this. If that is the case it is very stupid of the management team. After all thoses who have jobs have to look after them.
Great to see Givney back at mid field, but where is declan mc kiernan. He was in brilliant club form recently.
I hope this doesnt backfire on us. It wont stop me being there nor will it stop me getting behind the team, but disappointed with the selection.

Gutted with the team selection can't believe some of the players that are left out. Hope we can do it but I fear we could be eaten alive as we were last year
