I was at both of Cavan's minor games and am very impressed with their spirit. Granted, there is room for improvement in terms of the delivery from defence to attack, but any team that comes through two tight games, has to have a lot of heart and belief. They are a credit to their jersey.

i see in the celt that mcgovern is out with a broken bone in his foot. Another blow for cavan and swad. He's a cousin of Garoid mcKiernan.
Who will fill in the middle now.

Thats a massive blow as I was very impressed with him against Armagh. Big strong lad who can field a lot of ball. Ironic that he is a cousin of big Gearoid and very similar. An unlucky family!! Is it for certain that young McGovern is definately out?

according to reports in the celt he will be out for 6-8 weeks. Lets stay positive, we wll have him back for the All Ireland !!!!
All joking aside, its a massive blow. As you say, ironic that him and Garoid are related and both play mid field !!
We wish both a speedy recovery.

He'll be a big miss but aren't Eamon McEvoy (Ballinagh) and Thomas Galligan (Lacken) on the squad ? McEvoy is a stocky and very good footballer and Galligan is very tall and brilliant at fielding high ball !

Don't get me wrong but we were very poor in midfield in both matches so far. He'll be a loss but I think it s not massive. We have good players all over the county. There are a lot of lads playing for their senior clubs in div 1 and can't make their places on the minor panel. Young Daly from our club, youn Galligan from Lacken ,young Doyle from Ramor, young Rutherford from Lavey and the goalkeeper mcDermot from Ramor plays midfield with his club.Get it sorted lads Cavans the bigger picture.

As far as I know rudderford starts for a strong lavey team and doyle starts for ramor who are top of the league I think? Young galligan or sean mc dermott would offer a lot to the mid as they are big and mobile which we need!

Very harsh saying the midfield were poor in the two games. The work rate of the two lads Kian and Greg was absolutely massive. The ground the pair of lads covered in Clones v Fermanagh was immense, worked them selves into the ground. Not being pessimistic but I believe they've done well to win two games, in other years when the BELIEF wasn't there it wouldn't have happened. Refreshing to see. All the best to them.

Serious reviews about Monaghan minors, they are supposed to be a class act all over the field so looks like our minors need all the support they can get for this one.The management have been proven right so far and have given these players lots of opportunities to prove themselves. They played Ruderford and Mc dermott in the league amongst others so they have not missed out on them or the other players mentioned. Some players mentioned were apparently not up to the standard when really tested.

The very best of luck to these gawsuns tomorrow, Monaghan going in as heavy favourites and rightly so. But look, we've two wins under our belt now and we won it in 2011 despite not being favourites. Give a performance worthy of the jersey you're wearing lads, and that'll see yis over the line.
