Club Senior League

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

With most clubs having played over half their league games in all Divisions the following seem to be the contenders in each Division

Div 1A
This is the most competitive Division with Cavan Gaels, Ramor, Kingscourt, Mullahoran and Castlerahan all in strong contention.
Cuchullains, Lacken and Denn in trouble.

Div 1B
Gowna and Killagarry in pole position with Drumalee and Redhills ready to take advantage should the top 2 slip up, Belturbet and Drumlane in big trouble.

Div 2
Killeshandra are the only team in the county with 100% record and Bailieborough are well ahead of the rest in 2nd place Cornafean look likely to drop down with Mountnugent also in danger.

Div 3
Very tight at the top with Arva, Ballymachugh and Kill fighting out for promotion.

PS
Does any body know if the top 2 in their leagues get promoted and play in a final or do the top 4 play a semi final?

Does the Intermediate championship winners go to Senior

Is there relegation in the Senior and Intermediate Championship

I read that Mullahoran Manager has resigned. I also hear Mount Nugent manager has left.

Great to see Alan o'Mara speak out about the nightmare of depression. It is very brave of him and I wish him well. He is an example to all of us and this is a demonstration of the guys strength. Well done Alan

It should also be a lesson to us all to back off players on forums, threads and in general. They are all out there doing their best, no one is perfect. We dont know what anyone is going through anyones mind or what is going on in their lives, so we should think before we mouth off about anyone.

if opinions on a forum affect some people to the extent of what Alan went through...then they need to distance themselves from forums

Thats a pretty flippant response to a serious situation. So your solution is to tell alcoholics to stay away from pubs !!
Alan has been very brave to come forward to help others who may be going through a similar ordeal. Now i'm sure players dont give a dam what you or I think, but if someone has low self esteem, or suffering from depression every comment affects them, more that you realise.
We as a nation need to raise awarness of mental health and people need to be encouraged to speak and to find help.
A response like yours that if it affects them that badly they should stay away from forums shows a severe lack of maturity, a lack of understanding and a blatent disregard to the suffering of others.

very tight at the top of Div 1A. conceivably 7 teams still in with a shout as both Ballinagh and Lavey have 3 games in hand over leaders kingscourt. The Gaels seem to be in the strongest position though.

BreffniIsBest, Why would they be?
Regardless of whether we beat Fermanagh or not Cavan will be out saturday the 29th. Does this mean clubs will have the option to call off games that have county players?

The club fixtures are down for the same time and date as Donegal and Down is on in KBP

It's a well known fact that certain injuries are more likely to occur/be aggravated on artificial surfaces like the 3g pitch. Studies have been conducted on this across many sports and the results are the same. Knee injuries alone are 40% more likely to occur on an artificial surface compared to on natural grass during a sporting session.

That being said, if the clubs don't have a problem with it then let them work away. It doesn't make any sense for one club to refuse to play on it for this reason one week and then look to play/train on it another other than the fact that they didn't want the game played at all. It's a cop-out excuse used by clubs who want games put off/postponed and they get away with it.

The fact of the matter is that in times like the bad weather we experienced this year, if a team cannot play their match on their home pitch they should give up home advantage but should absolutely NOT get this home advantage back for the second game.

Alas, the county board will never learn. Same old, same old...

My apologies, was reading the first page of this read from the start of the league by mistake and people were giving out about games being not played/the 3g

I see that almost all club matches are taking place next Sunday @ 2 the same time as Donegal play Down in Breffni Park.

Is there any logical reason that these fixtures could not be fixed for Saturday evening
