i also agree with LifeBuoy maybe a bit harsh with the Gaels +10. The Gaels are well capable of this as shown against Castlerahan in the final last year. I have seen Killygarry on many an occasion and there main problem is not playing the full 60 mins. They tend to have periods of 10-20 mins and then fall asleep.

Not often I defend the system but in this case I will. This thing about who you are I agree with 100% but in this case I feel you are wrong. How you argue your case is very important and if the refs report for example is worded wrong one can get away on a technicality. The two players mentioned hold the same status here in this county.

Cheers. No Lavey/Denn wasnt played aspitch in BJD was unplayable. Also heard Lavey threw the game to Denn, as they had a massive injury crisis, not sure how true this is though..

Pitch in BJD was playable - Lavey conceded game to Denn on grounds that they wanted to reserve junior players for the championship and will thus face a fine for not playing the match.

Its a joke that Lavey didnt field a team Saturday but had 18 togged out for the juniors yesterday evening. they should be at least fined or be made play intermediate championship next year for devaluing the senior championship

I don't see how they devalued the championship by not playing a meaningless game? I think they did the right thing and it sends a signal to the county board that the format for the championship needs to change so that all games have some value and not have the scenario we've had this year where only one game out of the seven games played this weekend had something worth playing for.

Whether the Lavey/Denn game was a dead-rubber or not, Lavey should have fulfilled the fixture, irrespective of whether they had a junior championship game or not.. Lots of other clubs are in the same position as Lavey, and this should not be used as an excuse...
