Just wondering why the Lacken team left with 15 minutes of the senior final still to play. I thought it looked a bit odd.

I think it will be Sunday after the junior final well that would be the best offer for all. I know it was announced for Saturday but I think it will be Sunday after the junior match.

i agree with you sean i think that the replay of the inter final should be next sunday after junior final as we no if was not for the replays minor senior games the junior and inter finals would of been today the date the were fixed for after all the are the last 2 of the main 3 c,ship finals as a div 2 final is fixed for next sunday why dont the play it on the sat next same way as the had the replay of minor replay at brefni on sat night i think be more sense

I don't think it should make any difference to the mens game as none of the ladies will be playing in the replay.

Under normal circumstances the ref would have brought that free right in front of the goal because of what the number 15 was doing but he did not.

Sean number 15 was not breaking any rule. The match was stopped for treatment of a head injury. As the game was stopped Cootehill could not take a quick free kick so it makes no difference to were no 15 was standing. The ref can move the ball on when a player is obstructed from taking a quick free, but as I already said when a match is stopped for treatment for a head injury the quick free is not an option so the whole team can stand in where they like.

How many frees did cootehill get yesterday wen a lacken player was standin nearly on top of the freetakers and still never brought one free forward. Im a neutural but i tink martin sexton didnt do cootehill any justice yesterday. Not only did cootehills no15 get his nose broke by a blainted elbow which resulted in da last free but trevor crowe sud of got a sraight red on numerous occasins.. I tink if the game had of had a decent ref cootehill probley wuda won the game by at least 4 pts in the second half. Feel free to conterdict but from a neutral point of veiw dats the way i saw the game

Point taken BUT when he did blow for it to be taken he continued to impede. On normal circumstances this referee would have brought it in front of the goal but he did not this time.
I am still scratching my head the number of fouls that were committed by Lacken players and not one of them got booked ? Questions have to be asked about how impartial the officials were yesterday. 3 6 8 just three that could have got and maybe should have got their marching orders. Sherlock did put his hand forward and the receiver fell like a leaf then when the red card was issued got up and ran around as if nothing happened.

Remember I am 100% neutral here but it did look very strange what was going on out there I have to say. Lines men in particular saw many but did sod all. Ump hires had to see the punch in the first half and did nothing about it why I ask.

from what i seen sherlock hit both lacken no.8 and no.3 and if thats the case it was a red. lacken were also penalised for a jersey pull in the first half which was in no way impeding play.the free was taken right on front of the goals. its a disgrace the county board dont consider moving the game to sunday considering lacken are involved in the southern gaels amal who are playing in the div 2 final

The Sherlock incident happened right beside the linesman and he brought it to the ref's attention. The two players were pushing each-other away from a kerfuffle and then no. 10 struck the Lacken mid fielder in the face, albeit awkwardly and not that hard. The rule book doesn't say it has to be a 'good one' for it to count. You could see the Cootehill player remonstrating with the linesman as he left the field. I'd agree that the Lacken full back is lucky to be starting the replay as that was one ugly tackle on a much smaller player. I am surprised nobody has mentioned it but Cootehill brought on a sub and he too done his utmost to hurt someone. Was a good enough match before that nonsense started. I thought the ref had a decent enough game, better than Joe McQuillan anyway.

I was at both games yesterday as a neutral Cootehill had a 13m free to win the game that they missed they also managed to win a penelty and have their man sent off. Cant blame Martin Sexton for that. As for Trevor Crowe I didnt see the numerous occasions when he should have got red cards. The no 12 I think it was ducked to turn inside him and Crowe connected straight on.This was in last minute was but it would not have effected yesterdays result as the whistle was blown straight after the kick out. It was a game of two halves Lacken were way better first half and Cootehill were the better in the second. Draw was a fair result in my mind.
One strange think I noticed none of the two appointed linesmen in the programme were on duty yesterday the forth official was on one line and the other lineman and fourth official were not named.

I was talking to a Cootehill staff member and I did mention that all was going well until the sub I expect you are think off came on. I agree it was a game of two half's as well, people just don't realise how the wind works out there on Breffni Park.

There was no question about the red the dive was something else.

Sean were you watching the game yesterday I saw four Lacken players at least booked, No 3,6,9,and 10 certainly were and just to refresh your memory no 3 was booked for the elbow at the end of the game.
The Cootehill man that Con Cavan refers to was booked as well. Reading all the reports on this site on how bad things were yesterday maybe the County Board should review the video of the game and as none of these incidents were dealt with they could then suspend all the offenders before the replay.

Yes they got booked near the end but nothing to do with incidents I am talking about. You mention the No3 well should he have been on the pitch I ask for the second half.
I am not asking anyone to look at a video I am questioning the performances of the people that mattered.

considering the ladies game maybe the minor game should be moved to satrday nite and move either the junior or inter final into that slot.the lacken support at least would be severely affected if things were to progress as scheduled

I would like to make it perfectly clear that my post was not a statement of fact just an assumption that it would be played Sunday. It was announced for Saturday and unless the fixtures committee changed it the match would be played on Saturday as announced by the PRO.
I am not in a position to change these fixtures.
I hope no one picked my post up as a statement of fact for it was not.
