Knockbride were deservable winners over Bailieboro. Bailieboro were a shock, very poor!
Amy Rooney played fierce well for Knockbride.
Drumlane will be kicking themselves today as they should have bet Killygarry!
What was the score in the Drumgoon / Inny Gaels game & the Mullahoran / St. Finbars game??

I think im right in saying Mullaghorn walked over St. Finbers with a scoreline of 2.38 to 2.00 and Inny Gaels bet Drumgoon, 5.16 to 1.04

Bailieboro v Knockbride. What a cracking game and a great advertisement for ladies football watched by a massive crowd. Who would have believed that Knockbride could pull it off, pre match I must admit I expected Bailieboro to run away with it. But when you have a team that play as a team and the experience of the "ould" lassies who certainly werent showing their age and also the unknown girl marking Daena (who by the way had her "in her pocket") that is the difference between winning and losing. Who is she?

Knockbride I must admit were the better team but Bailieboro had the better players on paper. Hard luck to the shamrock girls and well done to the Knocks.
Tough game against Mullahoran for Knockbride next week.

Was at the knockbride game and thought that Knockbride didnt deserve the win as they played very lethargically and are a team on the down. Ladies football is spiraling down at a worrying rate and yesterdays game wasnt reassuring.

Hippo123 You honestly think bailieborough have the better team on paper are you mad were was these so called great players when it mattered to there club, they bottled it knockbride clearly deserved to win the game bailieborough scored a sloppy goal knockbride missed a penalty and knockbride missed a lot aswell. 4 points should of been 24.
Any one who questions knockbrides ability determination and heart is obviously not well in the head.

Waynerooney11 ur really haven't got a clue, have u? Knockbride are a team on the way down?? How have u come to that conclusion, they have a great young team and have done great work to get to where they are at the minute after all they went through in the past few months. They are a well organised unit who play for each other and are willin to fight for each other. whereas bailieboro had no plan, they just kicked ball for the sake of kickin, never looked up or tried to work the ball or pick out a player. Knockbride thoroughly deserved their win.

The young girl markin deana was Leanne o Reilly, she prob about 20, been with Knockbride all her life but never really got her chance wit the senior team until this year after all the girls left for Bailieboro. She really had a stormer of a game.

How Amy Rooney is not in on the county panel I don't know, she's a very skilful footballers and the county could really do with her.

Purerighty, you predicted that Bailieboro would win in an earlier post; so you should have believed in your team's "ability heart and determination" yourself. I was merely making the point that Bailileboro have a good team on paper and good invdividual players but they didnt perform as a team. Knockbride played as a team and that was the difference. Mullahoran gave St Finbars a thrashing, odds might be stacked slightly in Mullahoran's favour for the semi final after that cricket score. But Knockbride proved yesterday that they were a force to be reckoned with. Roll on next week, should be a cracking match.

I honestly thought knockbride would win was just looking for a reaction by saying bailieborough would win.
And im actually not from knockbride im from laragh.
And i was just getting fed up of all this talk about how good bailieborough were gonna be and what a great team that they now have when clearly they dont.

I was also at the Knockbride/Bailieboro game yesterday, if im been honest i just went to see would it be a rough game or would there be a bit of craic, i probably thought i would of been leavin before the game was over as i thought Bailieboro would run away with it. I COULD NOT OF BEEN MORE WRONG

It was honestly one of the best ladies and most entertaining games ive been at in a long time. Knockbride have to be given great credit, they played all the football. They show great team spirit from the start, everything went wrong for them in the first 5 minutes , they conceeded a sloppy goal, missed a penalty and had a sinbin all in this time. Alot of teams would of just said ''its not going to be our day'' but they battled on and got their just rewards. For me Bailieboro were very disappointing, they were outplayed in every sector on the field. Knockbride have some very skilful classy young players and mixed with the experience of Carmel Rogers and Elaine Costin they have a great team. After seeing them yesterday i will not be writting them off again, it should be one cracking game between them and mullahoran as mullahoran are also a great team. Very hard to call a winner but one thing for sure is the winner of the Championship will come from that game.

As a complete neutral at the game yesterday, it was an entertaining game. Knockbride did what Knockbride do best, close ranks when things aren't going too well. Fair play to them. In Bailieboro's defense, they're a new club and a new team, and are only getting used to playing together. They will be a major force in the not too distant future. Only other comment I have is that Knockbide were lucky they had 15 players for the whole game!!!

I have been reading all the comments on Bailieboro and Knockbride over the last few weeks and I am beginning to think that the people writing them have never actually seen Knockbride playing down the years at all. I'm sure most Knockbride people realise that their team was never all about the few Bailieboro girls who went home earlier this year. Good players and teams are built on work ethics and pride and commitment to Club and Parish. The game is won by having 15 hard working committed players on the field not just those who pop the ball over the post. Knockbride should stop their whinging and realise that the girls leaving this year have actually done them a favour. They should concentrate on looking after their own girls and giving them the opportunity to play. Bailieboro too need to settle down and take stock of what they have, they are trying to run before they have even learned to walk. While they have some very promising young players they are lacking match experience, over half their team have never played adult competitive football until this year (they were Junior B last year). They need to build on what they learned the other night and use it to push forward for next year.
