i agree with you sean we got two good games last night in particular the snr game both teams fought to the final whistle maybe draw was fair result the was some wonderfull scores from play good points taken some good moves in build up to goals but the equalising point at the end was wonderfull point at a vital moment it was pressious kick what look to of dip under crossbar into net but instead went over bar i wonder will both games be played in brefni again ; i notice on pa last night the games for next sat night the first of snr semi is first game as last week it was to be 2nd game also see next sunday minor final which was due to be played before the 2nd snr semi ballinagh v gaels is not on; instead at 3-45pm its inter semi final drumgoon v killeshandra how the change by not playing minor final which i thought would of been good double header in brefni with gaels v ballinagh so did the fix date for final as we are down to last 4 in the inter snr weekend just gone we now no who the last 4 are in junior did the make draw anyone no ; o yeah sean want to ask you do you think your team cavan gaels can go all the way and win back the title the lost last year with a good semi coming up with ballinagh v gaels as the have met already met in their group stages in which ballinagh won

Was a great finish to last nights encounter and probably everything you could expect from a relegation final. Ray Galligan, like he rest of us, thought he won it for Lacken with a superb free and a sublime sideline. Conor Madden then kicked a huge free from 55m to level it at the death. The usual riot ensued with some subs encroaching onto the pitch. Quite comical seeing the hit and run incident. Thought McKeever was outstanding, kicking some great points but more importantly blocking two certain points. For large parts he was the only Gowna player carrying the game to Lacken. Conor Finnegan played his best football out the field, may lack the pace for the inside line and has struggled in there this year in the sfc but done well when brought out. Niall McKiernan was anonymous and was taken off, expected more from him. Niall Madden was dangerous but got very little possession. Ill wait on both the CCC sanctions and McKeevers injury status before i make a prediction for the next day and both will have a serious impact on the final outcome.

bluesky i agree that you need big teams playing Div1 football but maybe Gowna or Lacken simply havn't had enough good young players breaking into senior ranks at the rate of other clubs .Its clear to see that other teams like Redhills have had good young players breaking through and maybe its time to admit that Gowna and Lacken aren't one of the big clubs in Cavan at this moment in time. I'm sure the loser will return Senior but maybe going to intermediate isn't a bad thing because nothing drives a team like success and an Intermediate Championship to either of these teams would bring success to the club and inspire a group of younger players.

Calm down please, bluesky. I am from Abbeylara, don't worry, we can compete. Need I remind of the scoreline when our respective counties met in this year's championship? We can compete, as could six or seven clubs in our county, with the 'elite' of Cavan club football, if there is such a thing?

We got beaten by Longford in this year's qualifiers so trust me, we are under no illusions about the quality of our senior team . (We certainly don't need some half-wit from a village sandwiched between Granard and a bog to illustrate how far we've fallen.)

to the Longford poster

we have had some measure of succes this year with out youth and we are building, if the level of your ambition is beating a transitional Cavan team then you have no ambition.

being mean spirited re Gowna is pathetic

Con is like a big trout rising for flies and if you can be content with anything this year, it's that Con is a whopper

cmondetown/ oh abbeylara, not a bad team, went to see them play twice this year in championship .If not mistaken trained by a cavan man! oh GOWNA man. Think we may be sending too many trainers over there, must be 5/6 Cavan men training clubs in your county. MAYBE thats why your county did so well this year ,BEATING CAVAN! well done GOOD YEAR!!

Why wasnt Derek Mc Gahern lined out for Gowna last weekend? They surely would have won easily with this quality athlete on the field. It makes me very sad that he wasnt playing and if he was playing throughout the year I believe Gowna would be well on their way to challenging for all-ireland glory on St. Patricks Day in Croker rather than a relegation dogfight in the Cavan football championship

hi sean didnt get chance to get back to your wondering were i get information from i saw fixtures on website and also in anglo celt you said on your calendar the minor final was 3-45pm before ballinagh v gaels semi final but as it said on web early in week fixtures was other way around the times is for games snr game is at 2-30pm -minor final 4pm sat week both junior semi finals is 17th first game 6pm then 7-30pm did you see comment by bold co cavan on 5th where he said apart from great value of the games the only comical side is the announcement of subs which was messed up 2 days in arow on sunday we heard that the inter semi between drumgoon v killeshandra was on sunday and ballinagh v gaels 7pm we thought odd we said would it not be better to play both games with gaels teams involved as a doudle header it seems the kop on and we see it makes more sense now that the minors and snr will be in brefni on sunday lets hope the pro;s have a better 2 dayss this weekend than the did last weekend

yes I see now they have changed times but when I posted the times were different. No idea what the PRO's did as I was not listening to him to tell you the truth. I am sure the correct information was relayed eventually.

Looking forward to the minor match it will give Dermot and Garry a chance to see some quality players going about their business. Should be a good match and may the best team win.

Gowna to win by 5. McCabe is back and flying in training so he will walk through them.Joe McLoughlin is back from america so he should shore up any defensive issues in the absence of gearoid reilly.Declan Keogh has also made a welcome return to the fray along side adrian hudson and Kevin Halton is going well in training so he could also feature.gowna have all these players to come of the bench so they should win easily

I would say if you are talking about Dermot McCabe that there is no way that he will grace Breffni Park next Saturday as a player???
