so the young lad was asked to into the seniors, it wasn't a command, it wasn't an order. From what I heaqrd many of the under 21's who were asked into the senior set up found out that they were invited by reading it in the newspaper first. If the young lad knew he was tired or burnt out, (and his performances with Kingscourt would indicate that he was) then he actually made the correct decision.
was he wrong about the lack of system used in the donegal game, no
was he wrong about the lack of direction of the team in those championship games, no
what he spoke appears to be the truth.

congratulations young man on your honesty,

I for one am delighted that Barry has spoken the way he has. Some posters seem to think that he is a young lad and has made a big mistake..... rubbish. He is young and bright, he knows how to convey his thoughts and you can be sure he knew exactly what he was doing. Young - yes, but certainly not stupid. Its about time someone spoke out and said what they personally feel and not toe the county team line. Unlucky, didn't happen on the day, just beaten by a better team, game plans...... blah, blah, blah. If you don't have motivated players on the field that are relaxed and clear in what they need to do then you will go now where. We had moving statues in cavan jerseys this year and for the past few years, thats why we are winning nothing. No one can honestly say they seen a motivated cavan senior player this year.
If a player who is not on the team thinks this, what the hell is the dressing room like.
If a player like Ronan Carlon had said this years ago, people would be sitting up and getting the situation addressed. I'm not comparing the two players but like Ronan, i think Barry will have a big influence on Cavan football. Also, i think the its a double edged sword for the management.... if they leave him out next year, they will be questioned over it and if they invite him on board and he doesn't join there will also be questions.

The lad said what he thinks, fair play to him for it. This interview had warning signs written all over it, the lad must despair at the thought of the setup he is expected to walk into a year or two's time.
