QUEBALLL 88 yes i read it indeed and it proves my point yous are only a young team looking for experience in all fairness yous are a typical intermediate team,,beating an out of age gowna team does not make yous a senior team yous failed to qualify out of a very poor group that says it all,,,,and as for your underage succes roinn d leagues wouldnt even be counted there the lowest underage leagues going...maybe thats where the underage structure is wrong entering the lowest of underage leagues if there was a roinn E drumalee would probably ask to go into that group,,and that then carries all the way up to senior,,maybe thats why nobody from drumalee will ever represent drumalee at senior level in the future as they are used to playing roinn d from underage upwards,,look at all the succesfull clubs they have all played roinn a football from they were 10,,enuf said

Longest serving player would probably P.Smith of Crosserlough; played senior until last year @ 44..?? Playing Junior D at minute;
On subject of refeering; Just because J.McQuillan got an All-Ireland dosen't make the issue in Cavan go away; Standard is definately effecting quality of football; Far more poor and mediocre refs than good ones; Standard of coaching at under-age level has greatly improved; time for standard of refereeing to do likewise; Some referees openly admit only doing it for the money..!! Root and branch restructure required!

flakester,Some of your points may have a certain validity, but Drumalee have built on what success we had last year and with just a little bit of luck we'll be playing Div.1 football next year.
In the first of our intermediate c'ship successes our team was a mixture of older and younger players, with the majority of older players then afterwards retiring.
This time round our team is young in general and we don't have any or too many over 30's in the panel.
The club's aim for the year was to stay in senior c'ship, get out of div.2 and then build on for next year.
How many teams have gone from one grade to the next and got to at least senior semi finals while playing div.2 football?
Our youth structure is affected by many factors including other sports also being strong in our area, plus the fact that we are in direct competition with the gaels when it comes to capturing underage players.
We are who we are, of this I have no doubt, but if anything, we're doing things as best as we can.
As regards us not producing too many county players, some of this may be down to people not giving our lads a fair crack of the whip, and the old thing of, "sure if he was any good he'd be with the gaels".
