congratulations to O' Raighailigh Gaels on your victory today. well done to everyone involved. next year when the board sanction amalgamations there must be a stipulation that if you do amalgamate you are not allowed to win the final.

tony.montana i agree that alot of clubs in cavan should amalgamate because it would raise the standard of football but i dont agree with ridiculous amalgamations like kingcourt/shercock or two years ago when baileboro joined up with shercock after that very same baileboro team had won nearly everything up to minor from u-12 but just had a poor minor league campaign that year. these amalgamations are just stupid. if you were from the gaels and knew some of the players well you would know that they didnt come to win things, they came to become better footballers by playing a better standard of football and enjoying their football more which is what its all about.

It's up to the county board to have the final say if they can join or not.Thats true, but by these players joining, who generally need to be a good enough standard or they won't have a chance of getting playing with the gaels. This leads to two problems, firstly - the team they leave, as they are a decent player, they will suffer, other players will lose interest & maybe follow suit. Secondly - this in turn pushes players out that already involved with the Gaels. So you have a negative affect on both clubs. There's always going to be complaints when an amalgamation side are victorious

wells gaelsutd i saw the O' Raighailigh Gaels vs Eire Og Celtics and they both had unique jersies for the competition..i can only presume as i wasn't at the game that one team had to change strip or maybe both hence the kingscourt 2nd jersies.

MAYBE THE CO BOARD SHOULD SANCTION A FEW SENIOR AMALGAMATIONS?? BECAUSE IS THE ONLY WAY THE GAELS WILL BE BEATEN AT SENIOR LEVEL IT SEEMS... NO CLUB ON THEIR OWN ARE CONSISTANTLY GOOD ENOUGH TO BEAT THEM..

I think we do need to consider why we are amalgamating and the potential damage it does especially at minor level. The players who miss out would in my view be more likely to walk away from our sport. I cant imagine how clubs that have no real connection would celebrate a victory like this? I am not from Kingscourt or Shercock and wish both clus the best. They had a good victory but...

Good look to Kingscourt and Shercock on their victory. It was a tall order for the Gaels yesterday against that strong outfit. But they can take heart that players like V Coyle and the Grahams will be winning Senior titles long before anybody from Shercock does..

When the gaels lose there is always someone to blame. Last year when kingscourt beat them it was the ref this year its something else. Yous are not used to losing which goes to show yous are part of a good club. But take your beating like men when u do lose.

Poor enough game yesterday. the gaels missed two gilt edged goal chances in the first half, which cost them in the end. O raghallaigh gaels are no great shakes by any means, i was disappointed with them after the reports I heard about them. Their purple patch just after half time was enough for them to win, shocking behaviour at the end from both teams, with the managers fighting as well, it left a sour taste in my mouth it must be said.

Cavan Gaels are an excellent club with many talented individuals at all levels; However...learn to take a defeat........the behaviour of some of the management and players at the end of the game yesterday was a disgust; (And not the first time) Other teams use this as a motivating factor against the Gaels;

how did the county board let 2 strng teams join? shercock are a strong div 2 team and kinkscourt are div1 league champions.... dy must of had a panel off 30 so dat ment 10 players cudnt play a game.... as a drumalee man i didnt care who won bt its a joke dey wer let join... players loose intrest and end up quiting its no wonder cavan football is d way it is...

william14 you obviously havnt been to a gaels drumalee game. dont comment on something you know nothing about. gaels and drumalee get well off the pitch but its very rare that you would hear one speak nicely about the other in football terms. of course o raghallaigh gaels played better football sure they were a disgrace of an amalgamation and everybody knows that. how could they possibly not have played good football with the division 1 league champions and a division 2 team amalgamted?
