Replying To sligo joe: "Reading the posts here it seems to me that people here are deliberately refusing to understand. The players are not trying to hit anyone in the pocket nor do they expect to change the plight of the Palestinians. It is simply a gesture of solidarity with the oppressed people in Gaza by refusing to endorse allianz a company who invests heavily in Israeli bonds and has only recently increased it's portfolio of the same bonds. What is wrong in making that gesture to the Palestinians. People are saying if they do this then they should be protesting against other companies too etc etc. But can anyone tell me what is wrong with making this gesture to the Palestinians in it's own right." Ah Joe get real.Sure a gesture is a gesture but they trying to take a stance against allianz but its like attacking a bear with a feather. Many ways to show a gesture towards persecuted people without giving free advertising to the group they have a problem with.A nice gesture would be if the few players involved publicly state they will not use Allianz insurance again. As Barney stated, this is pure grandstanding. Its like beeping the car horn in support to the shopworkers on strike outside their shop and then passing the picket to buy something.

Replying To tirawleybaron: "All to early Power Rankings - lets see how it changes over the season
1 Kerry - League & All Ireland champs - assisted by dodgy refereeing - will be hard to beat 2 Donegal - have learned a lesson on pressing against the wind anyway 3 Armagh - handy win to get restarted 4 Mayo - looking lively for the first time in a long time 5 Galway - understrength but still flush with forwards - defense a problem as always 6 Roscommon - Very unlucky v Kerry - square ball, dodgy penalty, late buzzer - good forwards 7 Dublin - a long way back to the top - bring back Jim - I hear he's not busy. 8 Monaghan - a bad start and a hard road ahead 9 Louth - surprise win, might have a big say in Div 1 10 Meath - look to be building on last year 11 Cork - a rare early win for Cork - might just try to get out of div 2 for the craic 12 Tyrone - unusually slow start to the year so far 13 Kildare - did well against Tyrone - look to be targeting a good league 14 Cavan - threading water I'm afraid 15 Derry - have to be getting worried about another relegation, well off it at the weekend 16 Offaly - under pressure now to stay up 17 Down - looking good for promotion 18 Westmeath - good start to the year so far 19 Wexford - surprisingly good the last day 20 Laois - should be safe but no more 21 Limerick - should be safe but no more 22 Sligo - should be safe but no more 23 Fermanagh - will do well to hand on in the division 24 Clare - going backwards all the time 25 Carlow - Looking good for promotion 26 Wicklow - all frees the last day - need to score from play 27 Tipperary - got caught out last week 28 London - going well for a change 29 Longford - no game last week 30 Leitrim - another new set of players - wont do much this year 31 Antrim - seem to have gone well backwards 32 Waterford - another long year" Jim is busier than James Horan and Rochford. Jim saw off 4 Mayo managers during his reign. He was sick of beating Mayo who always filled the togs as Philly told yous.

Kind of resembles what you'd hear over the years in the real world also. Were once everyone's "second team" as most wanted to see them win one but a small section of the fanbase have turned a lot of people against them over time. Il emphasize small section again, as most seem completely grand" I have had a few problems with Mayo fans over the years but most of em on here seem grand bar one muppet who the Mayo contributors dont even like.

Replying To Fionn: "Did I name players - I said the Squad....
Were you at the game last night.? We were terrible. Monaghan the worst team in Division 1 should have beaten us.
If you think we can beat Kerry next week... Really.??? I would be more than shocked...! Do you reckon kerry are gonna come with an under strength team to play the Dubs in Croker ???
Have you seen the quality of some of the teams in Division 2. Clearly not... At present I would put Tyrone, Derry and Meath ahead of us.
This Dublin squad at present is Division 2 standard. We have one stand out player CON. There is very little left in the tank of the players who have won it all for us. It is what it is....." Yes I was at game and yes we were lucky.Monaghan could have scored a few goals but I think with the win under our belt we can drive on.I honestly think we will up our game for Kerry and if Ger selects the right team we can win.No one gave us a chance last year and we done them in their backyard. IKerry can win but so can we.I wont be shocked either way.

Replying To Fionn: "Unfortunately, at 37, I am not sure we will see Patrick Horgan in a Cork jersey again, let alone lift the Liam McCarthy cup.
Yesterday was just one of those days when nothing went right in that 2nd half.
Hopefully they can re-group and win it next year, but I felt this was a hell of a chance for them, and they didnt take it.
It was some performance from TIpp though. A tactical masterclass." Ah here Fionn. What about the Dubs? Have you some Cork blood in you? because not being smart the only people outside of Cork that like to see Cork win have Cork blood in them. I dont like Cork and never have and most non Langers I know feel the same. There is an arrogance to them always thinking they are the best at everything. I have no ties to Tipp but I was delighted they tanked Cork. Now i do feel sorry for Pat Ryan but not Cork. Cork are grand when they lose but insufferable when they win.

I don't agree, I believe Brennan has the individual right to refuse to stand by the logo and I accept his sincerety in making the decision." I never mentioned anything about Brennan but as you bring it up do you know that Dublin GAA management get sponsored cars from Peugeot and Peugeot have strong links to Israel.

I wouldn't worry too much about a united Ireland as that will happen sooner rather than later of that I have no doubt, I would go as far as saying should Catherine Connelly become our next president, she most likely will be in office when the transition takes place, that soon." Ah hear! While Its nice to hear people speaking Irish its deffo NOT important for a President. Why do you think so? Will they be speaking Irish while meeting Trump or King Charles?

He's big student of American field games and its a perfect fit for what they do in basketball where they line up the three pointers from outside the stua mór!
Thing is, do Dublin have a Geaney or similar who has the basic ability to kick points accurately from distance in the first place? I remember looking at a few boys in SFC who had the knack and weren't on panel. Names escape me now of course." It's a democracy. We can vote for any candidate, vote for some, for all, spoil your vote or choose not to vote. Everyone has differing opinions that should be respected. But, for me, if you don't vote, don't expect to have any credibility when you complain about the candidates in hindsight." A general election is democracy as anyone can run as a candidate. No democracy in the Presedential election as both FF and FG blocked other candidates from running .Ironic both parties left with mud on their faces.
