Tomas Mulcahy has hit out at the Cork supporters who booed Cian Lynch when he came on as a substitute in Saturday’s night’s thrilling Allianz Hurling League opening round encounter at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
The two-time Hurler of the Year made his return to action after a long injury layoff as a 55th minute replacement for Gearoid Hegarty as Limerick were edged out by a late, late Shane Kingston point after leading by eight at half-time.
However, his introduction was marred by boos from a section of the home crowd, something which Cork great Mulcahy condemned.
“Not good enough – Cork hurling people should never bow that low,” he tweeted.
TweetYes totally agree - not good enough - Cork hurling people should never bow that low - what a player and ambassador he has been for our game and it was great to see him take the field again - https://t.co/2kxF8hCfGn
