Tyrone great Peter Canavan doesn’t see the Red Hands as favourites for next year’s All-Ireland SFC title despite lifting the Sam Maguire Cup a week ago.
The O’Neill County captured its first All-Ireland crown in 13 years last Saturday with a deserved 2-14 to 0-15 win over Mayo at Croke Park.
However, looking ahead to next year, Canavan sees at least two teams being ahead of the in the Sam Maguire Cup race.
"Tyrone are not the favourites for next year, they are not even second favourites for next year. People will see it maybe that they got through easy enough - I'm not too sure what the perception will be from other counties,” the two-time All-Ireland winner told Sky Sports.
"The challenge will be to do something that has never been done by any Tyrone team, and that's to try and achieve back-to-back All-Irelands," he said.
"So that will be the goal in time, but at the minute, they have earned the right to savour the victory and enjoy it."Tweet
