Junior A Hurling Championship Final

Lough Lene Gaels, following the playing of extra time, defeated Clonkill in the final of the Junior A Hurling Championship, played at Loughegar on Sunday November 9th in ideal weather conditions.

Lough Lene Gaels 0.07 Clonkill 0.08, was the match scoreline at half time. At the end of normal playing time the teams were deadlocked at Lough Lene Gaels 0.15 Clonkill 0.15. Clonkill scored a goal in the first period of extra time, leaving Lough Lene Gaels two points in arrears on a 1.16 to 0.17 scoreline at half time in extra time. The key score that decided this fixture in favour of Lough Lene Gaels came in the second period of extra time, when after a Marcus Kennedy goalscoring attempt was stopped, the ball subsequently spun loose favourably to Kevin Hogan, who scored a match winning goal for the Purple and Golds. Lough Lene Gaels Hurling Club warmly and sincerely congratulates its 2025 Junior Grade panel of players and team management on this success.

Equally, Lough Lene Gaels Hurling Club also acknowledges with sincere thanks and gratitude the large number of supporters present at Loughegar with their positive encouragement for the Lough Lene Gaels XV that was in duty for this fixture. Lough Lene Gaels team captain Johnny Dermody accepted the Junior A Hurling Championship cup from Westmeath GAA Board Chairman Mr Frank Mescall. Lough Lene Gaels Hurling club also acknowledges the very positive role played by Clonkill and that team’s supporters in last Sunday’s fixture.

Under 20 Division 2 Hurling Championship Final

Turin Hurling Club and Lough Lene Gaels Hurling Club both extend their sincere best wishes to the U20 Na Piarsaigh Panel of players and team management for the Division 2 Under 20 Hurling Championship final, Na Piarsaigh v Clan Na Gael, a fixture that is scheduled to be played next weekend. Both Turin Hurling Club and Lough Lene Gaels Hurling Club will very sincerely appreciate support for Na Piarsaigh in that fixture next weekend.
