The sudden death of Mick Price on Thursday was greeted with shock and sadness in Westmeath GAA circles.
Mick was a hugely popular figure who was Páidí Ó Sé's driver when he managed the Lake County to an historic Leinster SFC title 20 years ago. Mick collected Páidí from Dublin Airport which he flew into from Kerry Airport, and took him on the final leg of the journey to the midlands for training and matches.
A native of Ballynacargy who was a stalwart of the Mullingar Shamrocks club, Mick also brought hundreds of Westmeath footballers and hurlers to and from games by bus over the years.
