Aoife Connolly is believed to be the first ladies footballer to score two ‘45s at inter-county level.
A month after scoring her first against Louth in the Leinster Intermediate Championship to become only the third LGFA player after Mayo's Niamh Kearns and Galway's Roisín Leonard to kick a two-point ’45 since the rule was introduced in 2020, the Garrycastle sharpshooter repeated the trick in Sunday’s All-Ireland Intermediate Championship victory over neighbours Longford at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
TweetA little bit of history made in Pearse Park this afternoon as Aoife Connolly hit her second ‘45 of the 2023 season, earning Westmeath two points for the second time - the first player to do so? @WestmeathLadies @gaagarrycastle @LadiesFootball #ProperFan pic.twitter.com/5MjU83dj4T
