Malachy O'Rourke is the new Tyrone senior football manager.

The Fermanagh native, whose appointment on a three-year term was rubberstamped at last night's county board meeting, succeeds the outgoing duo of Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan after being the only nominee for the post. He was nominated by his adopted club Errigal Cíaran.

It will be O'Rourke’s first inter-county post since stepping down as Monaghan boss in 2019 after leading them to two Ulster SFC titles. He is currently in charge of Derry champions Glen who he steered to All-Ireland Club SFC glory earlier this year.

Details of his backroom team have yet to be confirmed.
