The Galway footballers have been handed a major boost ahead of the 2023 season with the return of Ian Burke to the fold.
The 2018 All-Star forward hasn't played for the county since the 2020 Connacht SFC final defeat to Mayo. Manager Padraic Joyce told the assembled media at yesterday's announcement of Supermac's five-year sponsorship extension in the Lough Rea Hotel that the Corofin clubman is one of nine players who are currently part of an extended squad.
“He is in training at the minute, as are eight other fellas who are training since Thursday night,” Joyce said.
“We’ll let them train away. They’re on trial until January 1, so we’ll see where they’re at. If they come up to the level and show a huge interest to be there, we’ll look at them and add them to the squad."Tweet
