After watching the fitness,courage,teamwork,will to win,belief from the hurlers,who were underdogs in their last 3 games and massive underdogs yesterday,its now up to the footballers. All this is whats been lacking and that comes from management in my view.Can they take this on board and turn things around? If they do,then they will beat Louth and do it comfortably and also give Dublin a game,because we have the players to cause problems.

We have the players to cause problems alright, I think man for man we're probably capable of reaching the All-Ireland QFs. But injuries, belief and fitness are all huge problems for this Meath team and MOD has to take a large chunk of the blame for all that.

Hope the training camp has brought the group together because our biggest downfall at the minute is that we don't play as a team. Man for man, we'd be able to take on most other counties but unfortunately this group haven't appeared to gel together at all. Look at the hurlers yesterday and the minors footballers against Dublin, two proper team performances. Hopefully our lads will take something from this and give a proper account of themselves this summer. Get the basics right; play as a team, die for the man beside you and most importantly, never give up.

I dont want to be disrespectful to any louth supporters on here..but i cant see them winning this game,watch a few of there games this year during the week (?) and the opposition that they were playing never really put any pressure on them but thats division 4 football..if Meath put out a good fast half forward line louth will be back tracking for a lot of the game...again this could well be a area that could cause the Dubs problem if louth or Meath win.

Does anyone know if mod went to Kilkenny to watch Laois v dubs?, it wouldn't be taking anything for granted as I think Louth manager should also have been there.
Brian Cody was watching Clare and Waterford, neither are in Leinster never mind anything else, but I suppose those are the qualities of a great manager.

But i dont think itd be looking too far ahead.

Meath will beat Louth.

MOD could watch Dublin all day everyday, Theres nothing he could do to stop Dublin winning though. Unfortunately for yous.

You could be right Wayno.But there is nothing stopping him from having the team organized and having instilled self belief after 4 years..

Whythelongface I respect your opinion and I know were you are coming from. From my point of view Louth did very well to come out Division four. They were the Bookies third favourites to come out of the bottom tier behind Wexford and Antrim. When Louth played Waterford down in Dungarven they were losing by a point going in to the final minute. They scored two late points to win the match. In Drogheda they were winning against Wexford and Wexford were coming back into the match. Louth held on to win the match. If both of these were last year, Louth would have lost both of these. Louth lost one match to Leitrim. Leitrim was way ahead and Louth came back into the game but lost by a point in Carrick. They showed great character to bounce back after that defeat because the pressure would of been on after the Leitrim loss. I know Louth were playing in Division four but you can only beat what's in front of you. Louth also got a draw up in Belfast and beat Antrim. Correct me if I am wrong but Mod is manager of Meath for four years or so? In that time Tyrone, Armagh and Westmeath all have recorded first ever championship wins over the royal. Apart from Tyrone, Westmeath and Armagh are not good places to be in at the moment. Can Louth beat Meath? Of course wee can. The question is can Louth hold on winning with five mins to go while the Royals are on the attack. Wee are in the home straight now. Let the Battle of the Boyne commence at 3.30 pm on Sunday. You make some good points Ollie but realistically there is only going to be one of two outcomes in this game. Either Louth will win by a couple of points having come back from the dead or we will batter you. Knowing us and our confidence issues the former is looking more likely now. You do need a crystal ball for this one and the bookies odds can't be justified. I'm hoping the Armagh ref won't have any underlying sympathy for the Wee.

Haha there was an Armagh ref in Navan in 2002 and look what happened there.

dunboynelad-Playing a fullback who is not a man marker would not be wise and putting guys on the team /panel who have no experience is not good either irrespective of where the come from. Some of the players are on the panel for 3 years and are still playing with little experience judging by the fade in matches. You have a team who was competing in Div 4 against a team in Div 2 so the odds rightly are where they are. Of course anything can happen on the day in championship football but to date in all the championship matches the stronger league teams have come out well on top.

There is a lot of Meath fans and also my peers on here would be nervous if we were 5 or 6 points up and 5 mins to go and Louth came at us..but i dont think that is the game plan from a Louth point of view to behind by 5 or 6 points and 5 mins to go and then give it a lash!

It will be a interested game..i rather see Meath going into this game nervous and Louth going into this game with there tails up!

Thats the thing browncows....different intensity in the divisions,we got beat by Westmeath last year but they were a division 2 team and a division 1 team the year before..does league matter or league form? i dont know.

Not too sure what your points are to be honest, think you're getting mixed up with something about Jones, that was an aside on something seperate re strength and conditioning. As for full back who will we have on grimes? We're seriously short there. On the match itself yes I also think we'll win, especially with the feel good factor back in the county from the hurlers ;-)

Of course it does, bar maybe Cork next year every team will be where they should be.
