This comment sounds like you were just waiting for Meath to lose last night. Really good come back with great impact off bench so very disappointing to lose. Perhaps some of substitutes showed have started. Hopefully these young players will learn and develop from this experience and become good adult players.

It's seemed at time and now, that to force those three lads off in a schools game was and is the wrong thing to do.

I can fully understand people's annoyance and frustration.

Football can be cruel. No need to make it crueler.

A successful u16 county management team was replaced for county minor competition and the it hasn't worked.

Lessons to be learned.

Feel very sorry for these young men. They did us proud.

Very unlucky to lose last night, they were electric for the last 10-15mins to get themselves ahead after looking like the game was dead and buried halfway through the second half, that kind of resilience will stand to them and be a good platform to get a run at the Tier 3

I'm not going to be too critical as they are kids and as mentioned before, there was not a huge expectation for the group. A couple of nice footballers there but Wexford ran the show for 40 minutes and their midfielder who got the three goals was head and shoulders above anyone else ability wise.
The thing with Boyne school looks bad but it was league not championship and had any of the three lads got injured during that game, people would be giving out about the management for letting them play in it.
On to the All-Ireland C for this team now which really is a competition for the Waterford, Tipperary, Leitrim and Antrim's of this world. Let the players go back to their clubs and maybe train once a week at county level, no more.

2.16 to 8 points, at home to Down. It's going from bad to worse for these lads.

Very very disappointing. I still can't figure the logic of removing a successful settled u16 management team and replacing it for minor. It really should be looked into. I hope current u16 management team stay in place for 2025 competition.

Look at how successful that has been with u20s. It's terribly unfortunate for all involved particularly the players.

Put that Down result in context they scored two points in first half. One from play, one from long range free by GK.
Same team was putting up very tidy scores in all competitions prior to minor. Squad has regressed.

Yes agreed thought that was now the model for managers to stay from under 14 to minor and then continue on to under 20's if things went well. I wonder why that changed this year as it was the way it worked the last few years. Either way not making a Leinster semi final at minor 2 of the last 3 years is not good

That minor management would have been better off concentrating on their area of responsibility and NOT interfering in the affairs of a schools team. Winning is a habit and the minor management interference with the Boyne School's team broke a winning habit. You reap what you sow.
End of rant, let common sense prevail next year.

I would not agree, it only was successful in this years case at Under 20.
It should never be a given that management of juvenile development squads should automatically be appointed and move up with those squads to manage them at Minor & U20 as it isn't always the best option.
It may very well be the case that the wrong decision may have been made not allowing that particular management continue with this years Minors from U16.
In Cathal O'Bric's case it was obvious he had a great system and a great back room team.
