Great game, early goal really made the Hill come out and play and in fairness to both teams they went for it in normal time.

Hard luck to our lads! It's been a tough year - winning the league was great but injuries took their toll on how we played. Even today - not sure some of the lads were a 100%
Summerhill were the better team today and have 100% been the best team in the championship! Well done to them! I think pure strength of character got us to extra time!
Best of luck to Summerhill is Leinster - they'll be hard to beat! And good luck Ratoath in the hurling next weekend!

Congratulations to summerhill, really good performance. I think the small ball game could have taken its toll on Ratoath

Hopefully we can get over the line in the hurling next weekend
Best of luck in Lienster

Massive Congratulations to Summerhill really did deserve to win it and i'm delighted for them. Thought 2 Fraynes were excellent, Dardis showed his class today with his unbelievable accuracy and just overall skill on the ball, David Larkin for me today was outstanding and my man of the match on the day. He covered every blade of grass and never stopped working to get scores, disposses and create chances! Brilliant display by all and best of luck in Leinster

Summer hill had massive stamina and deserve success . Looking at recording afterwards the result would still have swung Ratoaths way if the referee had var.
He did a great job but in the first qtr he missed a rugby haul down on Joey Wallace in front of the posts. Soon after Summer hill got a free when the player only went down after charging. That was 2points and a red. Also no20 did nothing but block player s NFL style
Small misses let Summer hill off the hook and altered the result. They got the benefit of dragging and blocking without the penalty.could have gone to,13 players easily.

Firstly congrats to all championship winners over the weekend, testament to all teams participating, 3 of the finals went to extra time , with all teams playing proper football. Summerhill desire & hunger just got them across the line with the dual player in Hurling & injuries taking their toll on Ratoath. I see Connor Gilispie maybe been a replacement for O Rourke in the next few years along with that he had his team really reved up for this fixture, home managers to me do it better. The intermediate lived up to all expectations, with Duleek Bellewstown falling short .Brian Meade what a servant to Rathkenny , he dominated the airways in this game , young Bowden for D/B looks a prospect & maybe deserves a call up to ORourkes squad.Kilbride deserved their day in the sun after all their heartbreak. Slane do intend from start to finish & set the tone for the weekends football in the county by producing a commanding performance. Well do e to Meath County board on a great match programme as well.

Sour grapes here - at least one Ratoath player should have seen red for an elbow into a Summerhill player.

I am not from Summerhill but I think they are well deserving SFC champions for this year. Ratoath have regressed this year and could well have gone out earlier than yesterday. Whether it is that Kevin Reilly's style of management does not suit their players, team getting tired or the dual efforts with the hurling it is evident that their loss cannot be blamed on the referree.

Were the Ratoath management favouring non-dual players in some instances?
I think it's time for Ratoath to give youth a bit more of a chance.

Congratulations to Summerhill on a well deserved victory. Delighted in particular for Conor Gillespie, who is an absolute gent. Also, David Larkin was immense. One of the most consistent forwards in Meath club football over the past 10/12 years. The only sour note was the horrific tackle by the Ratoath No 4 on Davy Dalton. How he didn't get a red card beggars belief.

The same player gave a swinging arm to the face of Barry Dardis which left him with a bloody mouth.

Not sure what you are getting at here - I don't see where there were any examples of this!

In terms of youth! The game was level when Joey and Brian Mc came off! Both were knackered - Joey looked injured from the start but was still a handful. Not sure again what you are getting at here!

Anyone I spoke to from Rathoath after the game admitted that Summerhill deserved it! And I heard no complaints about the ref!

Anyway - roll on next weekend - Podge H to get his deserved medal at last!!

Very much sour grapes. Thankfully the majority of ratoath supporters have been very gracious and accept they were simply beaten by the better team on the day and in fact without doubt the best team in this years championship .

Well done to both teams on a very entertaining final for us neutrals . The weather probably helped. Would't it be great to be able to go to the the county finals every year knowing the weather would be good . I can't remember too many meath county final weekends with weather like the weekend just gone.

Congratulations to Summerhill well deserved, they've been knocking on the door for years and were the best team all year. Rathkenny and Duleek sounded like a cracking game, a much more open intermediate than the last two years without Trim and Dunshauglin being in it and it will be one again next year. Delighted for our neighbours Kilbride, similar to Ballinabrackey in that they've produced a lot of Meath minors over a few years in succession and you could see the team getting strong each year as a result. Bar emigration (already lost 2 good lads) I see them having no issue at intermediate. And would expect them to be challenging within 2-3 years. Similar for Slane see them having no issue at Junior A next year. And also delighted for Dunboyne's minors in a brilliant game. Overall final weekend definitely delivered. I couldn't make Saturday's game but the two games on Sunday were excellent. And there's clear evidence of Meath producing good technical players who are also physical and athletic. There's a group there from 17-23 who I believe will take Meath up a level if they get proper professional coaching set ups and pathways

I thought Summerhill should have had it won in normal time. They dominated around midfield and I felt that the Ratoath line were slow to try and counter that.

Only an eejit of a Ratoath supporter would say that anyone was a better team than Ratoath. No disrespect to Summerville who are always impressive. Ratoath players were marvellous to get a draw at 60 minutes despite sticking to long kick outs when our midfielder s were never going to beat Flanagan. Who would be with a properly selected Meath team.
