Replying To royaldunne:  "Also from RUMOURS, the players had a meeting with management after league. Only 4 players spoke at the meeting, keoghan, O'Sullivan, mcentee and jones (current capt and previous 2, plus our best player in league) . They held their hands up and said they hadn't performed but that they felt the style of play that was been asked had left confusion and a inability to execute it as management would have liked, and it was decided that we would revert to a more defensive type of play, using the running game as the main game plan . Again this is what I was told over the weekend by a man from a club who has someone on team from his club. It was a very healthy meeting. I've been critical of Colm during league. But credit where credit is due, if he has listened to the players and taken them views on board then we have to give him and the other management team credit. I hope and pray we see a game plan that they can execute. As you said in newbridge the players looked awful and had 0 faith in the way they were playing. IF that has changed then we have to get behind management and players as they embark on a more familiar type of play."

All well and good reverting to a defensive style, but problems are up front as well - we can't score. We don't have a reliable scoring forward. Walsh could be the man but inconsistency and injuries still there.

Since Stephen Bray have we had a forward we can rely on? We just don't have natural footballers like we used to. And I'm not going back that far, we'd kill for a few forwards like a Brian Farrell, Joe Sheridan or Cian Ward right now.

Coffey, Rogers, Wyer and one more from deveopment squad added to panel and James Mac also returns. Anyone know for certain, is Jordan Morris part of panel?

Yes he is, he never left it to many people on here with little to do than spread gossip.

I wrote that last night but never got printed. Jordan was injured prior to Kildare game. He is still on panel. And if fit will play on Sunday. Good to see James Mac back too.

What's the situation with Joey Wallace? We had him playing in Croke Park versus the Dubs when he was too young, too inexperienced and too light.

Now when he has good experience and is physically stronger he is nowhere to be seen.

The performance of all the u20s on Tuesday v what IMO are a middlein Dublin team would suggest to me that none of them are anywhere near ready to be starting senior inter county championship.

The 4 or 5 who have been brought in should be given time to get to train away and get to grips with senior inter county training and challenge games and not thrown in at the deep. I don't think it would do the young lads themselves or the team for that matter any good.

Pointed out to me this morning. That by 6pm on Sunday all Meath footballers could be out of premier contests at all major grades (minor ,u20 senior) on 23rd of April.
It does send shivers down the spine. While I don't think we will be, it is still a possibility . I think many including myself pinned a lot of hope (perhaps too much) on u20s. I don't know if any of them will be drafted in to seniors but Sunday needs to see a drastic turn around from us to give the long suffering supporters hope of a bit longer of a year.

Why did he play 2 club league games with Kingscourt then in recent weeks?

Had a look yesterday and our average scoring across all three grades this year is about 12 scores a game. That's just not enough to win any match at any level.

Meath are lacking players with composure and who are able to take a score. Donal lenihan top scored in the league with 3-9, Jordan Morris had 2-10 and Shane Walsh 1-10. In Seven league games our top scorers didn't even breach 20 points. We're also very poor when it comes to the advanced mark. 0-3 across the seven games, some teams are getting 3-4 Points a game off it. We also had 7 different free takers across the league, think there was 19-20 points from that. You're free taker over 7 games should be chipping in 4-6 points a game at least. That's a Colm O'Rourke problem and needs to be resolved, no county in the country is playing without a designated free taker even if there's one from the left a one from the right, it needs to be sorted out. And one final one in all our seven games this year only once v Carlow have we out scored our opponents.

This is the key issue and needs resolution.
