Meath 20'S

Its going to be a close game and I'm hoping for a Meath win. Dublin didn't play well against Louth , maybe a bit of complacency set in but that's not Louth's fault. I would throw a little bit of caution to the wind regarding our performance to date, We haven't been great and some of the lads are only back from injury and have not played any full games in the last number of months. If were struggling have we the bench to turn it around?

Louth were decent a few yeas ago at Minor and more f there squad are in with the seniors. We have had only one who is out injured so this could also be a big factor.

Best of luck to all involved tonight. Going to be a close game and important to both sides. A win would be a nice boost, not only for this group, but Meath football in general.

i think meath will bring the bigger support tonight its hard for louth fans to be expected to turn out again today after being at a match in dublin yeterday as well. why could this game not have been a double header in portlaoise yesterday with kildare v louth or even a triple header in croke park before louth v kildare? put dublin on first at 12:30 and get it out of the way, then meath v louth at 2pm then kildare v louth at 4pm

Incredible performance against a very strong Louth team. Cathal O'Bric teams seem to get better with every game. Love watching them. Eamonn Armstrong and Liam Kelly both were unbelievable. Strong leaders all over the pitch. Can't wait to watch them again in the semi final. Special group.

Careful now, there's too much logic crammed in there. The dinosaurs in hq won't be able to process that quick enough

That would be using common sense, and there is probably a rule against that.

At long long last a successful Minor team has been successful again three years later, at least in Leinster and for that I for one am delighted. Well done to all concerned, enjoy the moment. We'll worry about the semifinal tomorrow and there is every reason to be hopeful. Thanks lads.

Fantastic display. This is real continuity from this group of players from their minor All-Ireland. Some really special prospects on that team, Armstrong was very, very good and deserves to be singled out. Its a good night to be a Meath fan. This age grade has been the elephant in the room for a long time. No longer.

Commiserations to Louth. Having beaten Dublin and looking for their first U20 Leinster since the early 80's, this cant be easy to take, against local rivals nonetheless. One of the best Louth underage teams in a long time.

Outstanding displays particularly Armstrong and Murphy. Kelly, O'Hare and O'Regan very solid too amongst others. All of these players need strong attention over next few months/years with opportunities for them to be prioritised at senior level as majority of these guys already a cut above many on senior panel footballing and talent wise. Let's see what more this U20 campaign can bring. We'll done to all!

Fantastic win tonight, well done to players, management and all involved. It was really heartwarming to see a Meath team play to such a high standard on the big occasion. A joy to watch. Some fantastic footballers in that group.

That lad has some engine. For such a big lad he can fairly move quickly. He's going to be playing for the seniors without a doubt in the near future. A few of them are

A brilliant performance and a brilliant win. 23 years is a famine for a county with our tradition and it's great to put it to bed. Massive credit to the management team particularly O'Bric and Marcus Brennan. It was great to see a Meath team combine smart, modern, patient football with the old Meath traits of toughness, physicality and honesty that we all love. I would value this achievement even over the all Ireland minor title given how much we had struggled at this age and the work management and county board put in since 2021 to keep these guys ready. Throw in all the injuries they dealt with at the start along with O'Halloran and Commons two key players still being out and it really is some achievement. Standout performances all over the pitch particular mention for Liam Kelly who seems to love playing in finals, Eamon Armstrong who incredibly has 2 years left at under 20 and Jamie Murphy who kicked some fantastic scores. Into bonus territory now, but maybe we could be greedy ..

A fantastic win and one that you might have thought was beyond this talent group with the performance in Rd1. They have grown in confidence since then and steady improved. Looking forward to the semi final and we should go into that game full of confidence regardless of the opposition. Played both in two challenge games earlier in the year and we cant fear them. Some outstanding performances last night and while the lads putting the ball over the bar always gets the prize I think the Captain Liam Kelly set the tone early on and he finished with two points. He also stopped their marquee forward from scoring, Really stepped up last night.

Excellent win, a far superior outfit on the night. Leaders all over the field. Armstrong and Murphy are real additions to the minor team of 3 years ago. Considering that Commons, O' Halloran, Corbett and Emanuel would be more involved but for injury, this is a really strong group. The strength and conditioning of the players is much superior to any U-20 group we have had before. A lot of people will say COB should be the next senior manager, personally I think we need a long term approach and I would like to see him stay with the U-20's for a number of years until we are producing good teams year after year. We have really struggled at minor level for the last 3 years and I think as a county we need a bottom up approach, COB has the managerial ability to ensure we are very competitive at U-20 over the next 3 or 4 years and that is of utmost importance for the longer term. I believe 11 or 12 of this years extended squad are underage again next year. In my mind he should keep working with the U-20's and he would take over the seniors after the next manager, hopefully in 5 years time and with a group of players who have been successful at U-20 level for a number of years.

Great win. Such a joy seeing great pace in the team and quick, ambitious ball into the forward line. Couldn't believe it when I read Eamon Armstrong still has 2 years at this level. Despite the scoreline it was quite nervy at times in the second half, I hope they work hard on kickouts before the semi. And for anyone who has followed this team more closely than me, who would you expect to see lining out with the seniors next year? Armstrong and Kelly? I appreciate it takes a few years to see a knock-on in the seniors but many of them look close to ready.

A huge well done to all involved. What a massive lift for the county. Finally landing silverware at this age can only help and hopefully inspire young lads to follow in their footsteps. Some super performances last night and hopefully we can get over Cork or Kerry and make it to the final.COB gotta be a contender when Colms time as manager is up?

And Christian Finlay looks set to miss the whole campaign too. Very strong group indeed,
