Great game of football yesterday. Two very good and committed teams. Trim deserve huge respect for winning that one, especially without Alan Douglas playing. Also James Toher was off with a black card towards the end. Best for Trim probably Conor Quigley and Aaron Lynch - Lynch didnt score from play but linked a lot of play and is reliable from frees and penalty. Quigley was immense in the second half. I think they probably realise that that performance wont be enough to win the final. St Faithleachs could have scored a couple of goals in the first half and coughing up chances like that wont win the final. Anyway, nice to see some positive stuff on the football front and, I'd agree with above, its a pity that its clashing with the Meath Roscommon league game. stillaroyal (Meath) - Posts: 225 - 30/01/2022 16:53:12 2397217 Link 0 |

Typical Trim Performance when it matters.... Head4BlackSpot1990 (Donegal) - Posts: 24 - 10/02/2022 17:13:21 2399705 Link 0 |
I'd say the two games that mattered to Trim last year was the IFC final and the delayed SHC final. They performed ok in those.

Must have been very frustrating for you having to wait so long for Trim to finally lose so you could get the boot in.

That Steelstown team were excellent. They also beat Na Gaeil from Kerry who have several players on the Kerry senior team. Maybe a good beating like that wasn't the worst thing to happen to Trim. It probably exposed flaws that would need to be addressed if they'd hope to be competitive in SFC later this year. stillaroyal (Meath) - Posts: 225 - 11/02/2022 10:07:00 2399760 Link 0 |
