Any appointments confirmed at this stage?

Some amount of vacancies… either being a manager is hugely unattractive these days in terms of hassle or players and clubs are showing due respect to the managers they have. Hard to see how some of these vacancies will be filled.

We need good managers to raise standards as much as good players. Nothing more off putting than having an ignorant gb**** over a team to reduce the morale of a parish and see players drop away.

I'd say a club will always find someone. €€€€

I think most clubs have a really short outlook on things, want instant results when in reality I think managers need time to make things work.

I don't think that is the case where clubs are demanding instant success and booting the manager out. Its more down to player commitment as managing players in todays climate is very demanding, especially at club level. I would also put the two covid effected seasons down to the big turnover of managers this year.

Great to be back. Where we at with all the managerial roles that were to be filled? David Brady to Ratoath is very very interesting . A controversial character down the years and drama seems to follow him around so will be intriguing to see how it plays out.

I thought this a bizarre appointment. Maybe I'm wrong. Has he managed anywhere before with success? With the talent at their disposal I'd have thought they'd be getting best managerial talent around or putting a promising coach in place with a medium/long term goal in mind.

Think he might have had a short stint looking after Ballina but not 100 % sure.

Definitely a left field appointment given his seemingly limited experience as a coach/manager . I would have thought a club like Ratoath would have mangers and coaches with lots of experience and good CVs queuing up for the job.

Then again Brian Farrell didn't have a huge amount of experience when he got the job and did pretty well so who knows it could be an inspired appointment.

Either way it's certain not to be dull with David Brady involved

Would not have been cheap either. Can be difficult to attract someone to give so much time to a club not his own. Candidates would be looking not only at the players available but at the club management and ethos. Hence it would be difficult to attract anyone.

Add to it Ratoath will probably have 6 or 7 lads with Meath (hurling & football) it can make it very difficult to implement a style of play.

Your right ashrules
Why would anyone want to manage a club who have only won 2 out of last 3 Keegan's
Has 4 adult football teams, 3 adult hurling teams ,
Just purchased adjoining lands, build an Astro and ball wall , low club depth amount , obviously terrible club management and ethos at play here
Hence really difficult to attract anyone,

What I can't understand is what has David done or is planning to do with such a club ? Let's be honest rathoath are now the most prominent club in the county . I wish them well. I just don't know why they appointed him.

Well I would imagine he sees there is a great opportunity to win a Club senior championship as a manager and thats what his plan is. From his point of view I can totally see why he would take the job.

From the clubs point of view I would have assumed there would have been huge interest from people who have lots of experience of coaching and managing at Senior Club level and even inter county level . Thats not being disrespectful to Brady but it would just me more and experience or lack of it which sticks out to me.

Obviously massive experience as a player and pundit but would be very different to managing a Top Club senior team where anything less than a senior championship win is a failure.

There would have been an application and interview process and I would imagine that David would have had to show a good knowledge of the team and Meath club football and also outline his plans for the future. He must have impressed them sufficiently for them to go with him.
Ratoath had a decent enough performance in the Leinster club after their first win and could well be thinking of a run in that competition when / if they win the SFC again.
