That is some appointment by Kells - hopefully Luke can get them finally over the line. Great news for GC.

With Sean Kelly & Sean Barry appointed managers of St. Colmcilles, where does that leave Seán Kelly in relation to having been appointed earlier to the Meath U20 management team with John McCarthy?
Colm Coyle who was also appointed with him for Meath U20's has stepped down from the Castletown job.

Ratoath: Possible vacancy
Don/Ash: Possible vacancy
Trim: Kevin Reilly assuming will be there for 2022
Navan O'Mahonys: Vacant
Na Fianna: Vacant
Ballinabrackey: Vacant
St Colmcilles: Sean Kelly & Sean Barry new managers
Curraha: Vacant
Gael Colmcille: Luke Dempsey new manager
Wolfe Tones: Micheal McDermott assuming will be there for 2022
Moynalvey: John Donoghue
Simonstown Gaels: Colm O'Rourke
St Peters Dunboyne: Vacant
Summerhill: Vacant
Skyrne: Vacant
Seneschalstown: Vacant

Of the sixteen teams in the Senior championship next year, it looks like only four of them will have the same management as the previous year, with Trim one of the four having only got promoted. A lot are still vacant and others have new managers already in place.

As far as I know Mick Deegan will be staying put at Don/Ash.

I don't know when the under 20 county season is. But if it's like 2020 there's a chance the season could end in February/March

That is fairly stark alright!
I know it's a mix of managers leaving themselves and clubs looking for a change but to have that many vacancies seems strange! I know there are some at intermediate too!

I hadn't heard Ratoath or Ashbourne were on the look out!

It will be interesting to see who ends up where!

Apparently Ellis Maguire from the Moynalty Area is taking the Skryne Job great move for both parties... If True

Would hate to be a manager in the current club circuit and admire anybody who has the time, dedication and patience. Expectations of people are high - we refer to player burnout but ask a manager to devise a training strategy each night, review game footage, provide feedback to the team, babysit players with exam, work, injury concerns and then take the actual session! It's a lot for any person to take on. It's a devotion that scarcely carries the same rewards as playing. And then there's the proverbial hurler(s) on the ditch! I think I'll give it a miss!

would be great to do an assessment of each Senior Teams 2021 & their chances for 2021. No doubt NOM will have a difficult 2022 , but i would be of the other viewpoint, which is NOM will roll up their sleeves this winter, reappraise where they are at, and Plan next year will sole focus being on ensuring retention of their Senior Status . the ones to go down next year , will be most likely be another Established Senior Club will an over inflated view of themselves. There are Senior Teams who know each & every year that know they are only ever one Group result away from a relegation. situation ...and they focus & plan around that...they tend to retain their status...NOM have been warned...surely they will learn what Dunshaughlin didn't in 2020.... watch out for the Sleepwalkers

Let's have a craic at that!

Wolfe Tones - obviously will come in on a high from last year - good mix of players age wise and the experience of this year will only be a positive for their younger lads. Will be a marked team though and all the others will be expecting them to be at full tilt and dying to knock them over!

Dunboyne - big squad as evidenced by winning prem 1. The new management will be under pressure to produce something. They should go well with the players they have and I would expect them to be there abouts at the park end

Ratoath - another with a big squad although they looked a little light this year when injuries hit! Managing the dual players will be key! People on here saying they will have new management - what will that bring! If they get injuries sorted and a bit of passion going I'd expect them to be in the shakeup too

Ashbourne - another team that should have access to a large squad but don't appear to be bringing lads through! Possibly the surprise semi finalists this year and I feel they wont go that far next year!

Summerhill - I felt they were suffering a hangover from some recent disappointments. Have a few lads coming through from minor a couple of years ago. Never easy to beat - I'd see them as a quarter finalist

Na Fianna - good group series this year - will look to build on that! Need a few key men fully fit but would be surprised with anything beyond quarter final

Gaeil Colmcilles - new manager - but do they have new players to come in for their ageing stars! Will be interesting to watch in league and then how they progress from their!

Colmcilles - new management team too I believe. Would expect some of their recent minor crops to start coming through - if they can get it right at the back they could be a difficult proposition for anyone

Simonstown - how they ended up in relegation playoffs is a little mystery! I expect them to be way better this year! Midfield - they seem to crave Nash! Time to move on!

Navan OMahony - could be another difficult year - little coming through and reliance on senior lads - new manager will have a challenge ahead! Relegation battle looms

Curraha - depends on who is around!! If they lose a few key lads to travel they could struggle but have a toughness to them when chips are down! That said I think a relegation fight is ahead

Senescheltown - another team likely to face a challenging year - but I think will have enough to stay up! Could be a tough year and I expect will have to go through relegation playoffs

Skyrne - I see these as a middle or just below middle of the 16 team! I think they will be too strong to go down but don't have enough to go all the way! Draw in championship will determine a lot! New manager might get a bit more out of them

Ballinabrackey - decent year in senior this year and will cause teams problems - will stay up but might have to contest later stages of relegation battle

Trim - I think Trim could cause plenty of problems - I expect more from them than some of the recent inter champions- can't see them struggling like Longwood or Nobber

Moynalvey - similar to skyrne - somewhere in the 8-10 range - injuries etc will play a part but think they have enough good players to stay Senior for a while yet

Obviously- just an opinion!

Injuries, travel, Covid and of course championship draw will all play a part! Possibility that teams with more county reps run the risk of injury/fatigue etc

New managers will make a difference too!

love it....totally agree, a few Teams could make a leap ...or fall backwards depending upon new management .No one Team seemed to grab a hold of this years championship , other than Tones...who took the opportunity & fair play to them Id say a few of the challengers will be kicking themselves , Summerhill , Kells etc
I think Ratoath figured large in everyone's thinking coming into this year....but without a doubt, the panel there is far from the panel of 2019 . Funny thing is Tones will give everyone belief going into 2022 , but id expect Dunboyne , Ratoath at least to sort their few issues out and go again , Kells , i wont call that, out of respect to a great Group & i think a special relationship with Lar Wall. Can it be replicated & bettered with Luke Dempsey.?.
Some of the ones i consider hovering around that Top 8...if they got their attitude & panel together , can be dark horses..... Skyrne can always pick up a keegan cup when they get organised
Ashbourne need to hold onto Mick Deegan...if they do....i think that puts them in Qtr Final territory. Simonstown..im not sure....on the one hand , if O Kane, Gallagher & Co were fit for purpose....they become formidable....but again...they are not the squad of 2018/2019 .....
Trim....with energy & enthusiasm of finally getting back to senior should control their egos but focus their minds and say to themselves...there is nothing here to fear
Could Na Fianna get one or two of the younger guys to step up even further & take over leadership of that squad from the great servants the Queenys. and Yellow furze men confound me this year ....hold onto hickety & build around him....if he travels..., then dogfight

Is the right fix for a club a big name.
Or a yoing hungry coach.
Lots of clubs looking but there seems to be the same names in the hat.
Few teams this year had there manager coaches for just the year can you really change the development of a team in few months??

Think the top teams in order are ( if all injured players were available )

1. Ratoath
2. Kells
3,. Tones
4. Dunboyne
5.Simonstown
6 Summerhill
7 Na Fianna
8 Ashbourne
9.Trim
10 Moynalvey
11 Skryne
12 Senchalstown
13 St Colmcilles
14 Navan O Mahoneys
15 , BallinaBrackey
16 Curragha

I'd disagree with a few places there. Trim way to high up the list for a team who just got promoted. I'd rank Moynalvey and St Colmcilles ahead of them. Very generous to have Kells number two as well. Top eight i'd pick based on strength of squads and recent form would be:

1. Ratoath
2. Dunboyne
3. Wolfe Tones
4. Don/Ash
5. Kells
6. Summerhill
7. Simonstown Gaels
8. Na Fianna

Most people would agree that Dunboyne and Ratoath have a stronger team than wolfe tones but on the day Wolfe Tones definitely deserved to beat the two of them, but if i was to rank them in terms of who has the better team Ratoath and Dunboyne do have better teams. Wolfe Tones out worked them. Ratoath and Dunboyne were also seriously hit with injuries against Tones. Ratoath were down three Meath senior starters against tones, as well as a few other players, and Cathal Finn and Ronan Jones were also seriously impacted with injuries in the final.

Wouldn't argue but remember Tones were without Fiachra Ward, Eanna o Kelly Lynch and Eanna Harrington. Two lads who have played county football and Harrington one of Tones best performers over last 6 years
