He is right, Kells outplayed them last year imo and should have won. Simonstown could and should have beaten them. They are not the same animal since farrel came in.

They lost the best Manager they will every have in Davy Byrne. Not a slant on Farrell at all, there was no cockiness there at the time and this is what has crept in. But a club doing fantastically well all the same

Folks
Hold the horses - despite a raft of injuries this year they made a semi final. 3 of the injured were county men - McGill and both Wallace's. Ben McGowan was a big loss too! Never mind the fact that Power, O'Brien and Ahern are away and Duffy retired!
I thought they actually looked like they were lacking a little in confidence this year - particularly against Tones! They had a lot of young lads on their second team and if they can get them coming through they should be in a good place!

But on that and possibly for another topic! The year Ratoath won Intermediate - their biggest challengers that year were Colmcilles - Cilles then went Senior the following year. In that time they have contested a lot of minor finals - yet they haven't settled into Senior in the same way as Ratoath have! They had a host of County forwards over that time - what opinions do people have on them I'd be interested to know! Is it down to management or is it down to players! They beat Na Fianna in the Minor in 2016 - Banty was the star of that team! I think they contested finals in 18,19 and 20 and will do so again this year! Surely this is the team of the future in Meath!

Not at all, we have both finalists this year haven't exactly set the championship alight, plenty of teams win championships without being spectacular, Ratoath were a shadow of themselves last year compared to 2019

Gordon Ward is still involved with Kilbride as far as I know. Leo Turley was the manager in 2021 of Kilbride? Presumably he is still there although results were poor. Lost good few games and well beaten by Dunsany.

True Ratoath have settled better in the senior(won it twice cant argue with that)and seem to have alot of young lads coming through. On the Cilles, I think the difference is they have lost a fair few lads (experience players) who might just have to many miles on the clock or reached the twilight of their career and coudnt commit or didn't have the legs for senior maybe. They have four teams this year the 2nd and 3rd teams is mainly made up of young lads from the last couple of minor teams and next year they will have the 7/8 county lads from this years All Ireland winning team so you would imagine 3 /4 of them should be near the first team next year.Having said that we all know there is a massive jump from minor to senior so it could take a couple of years for them to gel in.They reached the 1/4 final this year so would be hoping to improve on that next year.Dunboyne were just to powerful for them (physically I mean) they were further down the road than the Cilles.I think the Cilles are lacking a bit in the strength and conditioning area and think if they got someone like Niall Ronan in could really benefit them in the next couple of years.I think they have the potential to challenge over the next few years due largely to the numbers they have and successful minor teams the last few years but turning potential into a winning team isn't that easy.

See the Cilles now looking for a new Senior Football manager, any thoughts , one wonders will Paddy Carr take up the role here after having a interest in the year gone or is Sean Kelly / Sean Barry combination free from the St Mary's in Ardee??

Cilles should be doing significantly better with the conveyor belt of players they have coming through. As one poster put look at the success of Ratoath and the Cilles have been probably more successful underage. Maybe the club needs to look at bit deeper

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say "That was a great championship". It's always been "unexciting" or "no standout team".

If an unfancied team wins we're told that's a sign of how poor the championship was.

If one of the favourites wins we're told that's a sign of how poor the championship was.

I have to say I don't like the way clubs put out these advertisements seeking new managers. Most of it is a load of waffle.

Absolutely the right thing to do. From experience, club admins and volunteers spend weeks and months chasing managers every year only to be given the run around and turned down last minute.

Definitely the better way is to find out who's interested, here them out and see if there's a fit and then make a decision.

If there's a bit of effort to be put in for an application process maybe less lads give clubs the run around

I see Syddan and Rathkenny on the prowl both have identical adds on the main page.

Must be a default or a custom form or something but looks bit silly really

In fairness Summerhill really missed him against Ratoath especially with the free taking. Ran Ratoath very close who were at full strength, The tones played a ratoath team missing some key players but you need a certain amount of luck to win games and championships."
Summerhill job will be sought after, great platform there. Skryne will also be on the lookout as Harnan made it clear that it was only short term for him. Will many go for Dunshaughlin job, I see manager is gone from there?

There really is some amount of clubs changing management. It goes to show the demands on club management, especially at Senior level, is very high now.

So is Kellaghan gone from Summerhill ? I see McDonnell gone from Ballinabrackey too.
Davy Byrne had a poor season overall with Tyrellspass after a few narrow defeats and dropping down to Section B in the senior championship. However, I'd expect them to bounce back quickly, particularly if Byrne stays on.

Do clubs need to get there own coaches involved more.surely a coach bringing a team from underage could get something out of them.is it players are more demanding or poor decision makers in commitees.
