Provide me with thoughts on game. Assume Yorke is no. 1? Who partners menton? Our best front six for this game? bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1807 - 06/01/2020 17:55:07 2257823 Link 0 |
I just want to see some of the old meath spirit back. Never say die attitude. Everyone fights for each other and believes they can win. No handpassing. Let the ball in fast and early. Test out the fullback line LoyalRoyal66 (Meath) - Posts: 85 - 06/01/2020 20:05:06 2257846 Link 1 |

Did you not see that last year? Apart from a major malfunction in the Leinster final I saw a Meath team fight tooth and nail in every game against much higher quality opposition than other years. As for the let in in early by bombarding a full back line out of it high ball, that is easier said than done with teams now putting much more pressure on around the middle third.

Devine and Campion out for most of the league so definitely won't be on the bench from what I hear

Most effective way to play football. Just drive it in. Doesn't require much thought but is highly effective. Often don't even have to look up, just lump it in

Not sure if that's a sarcasm post but i think in the modern game its a lot more difficult than just lump it in & especially against a likely packed Tyrone defence. You've got to be intelligent in how you let it in. Should be out in front of the player to try and take advantage of the advanced mark rule (believe that's in again this league campaign) and in an area a player has a reasonable chance of converting from. No use kicking ball into the corner as it only allows teams to get back and block up the middle and defend the D which was our major downfall last summer.

What do people think about the injury situation?. Do we have an injury crisis?. I cannot remeber any stage in Andys tenure so many injuries. We had 10 players injured on saturday. Pretty much ten first team starters. All of these players started in the super 8s last year. Furlong1949 (Meath) - Posts: 1067 - 09/01/2020 13:59:36 2258414 Link 19 |

As regards the injuries, it may have been a result of the squad having had a longer season than they were used to. gwanyagudthing (Meath) - Posts: 88 - 09/01/2020 16:09:25 2258453 Link 0 |
