For the past year he managed Kinnity in Offaly and apparently they were relegated to Senior B. They were candidates for the drop so maybe that is why they went outside. Before that he was the man at Lucan Sarfields. In 2013 (I think) he was with Longwood when they reached the Senior Final.so he was around a while. Finally he hurled for years for Raharney in Westmeath. There were a few brothers of them all pretty nippy forwards. So we wait and see but who is with him will also tell a lot.

County board went for cheap option. Should of went for someone internally that knows all the players and will have done chance of getting them to play or went for a very high profile name. Meath haven't a hope next year. Do u honestly think players from the bigger clubs are going to bother their arse. Christ ring beckons for next year.

I couldn't agree more, it was just an exercise to replace the out going manager. No thought, no ambition to drive things forward and look for a high profile manager, just carry on doing what they are doing. A missed opportunity.

hurlit / foley 91. do you have anything positive to add to any scenario or is negativity and abusive comments all you offer?

If anything an internal candidate would be cheaper, and I know my club had no nominations put forward. so maybe there was no internal people even applied

I'm not sure what big names people expect. Usually whenever results go against us the reflexive clamour on these forums is for Pat O'Halloran or Paddy Kelly.

I remember a certain Sean Boulan being greeted with similar negativity to what I is happening with the new manager.

I say give the guy a chance.
