This topic is about unearthing talent from outside the county. Thought lads would be more open to the idea. Look at Roscommon. Plenty of suggestions but the poor junior clubs wont amalgamate to improve standards. Leave them at it and look elsewhere I say

You seem to know a lot about Dublin club football though...maybe you should stick to that.
Tell me how many Leinster and All Ire club championships were Meath winning in the 80s and 90s?

Club football used to be alot better in Meath.

In fairness moynalvey have given us plenty of inter county footballers so it's prob hard for them to get a league run together.plenty of there youth has represented meath simonstown likewise have patience my good man

Don't really understand what this moynalvey stuff is all about. ? Thought the thread was about lads in Meath playing for dublin clubs .....think this effects Ratoath , Cilles. Ashbourne ,and Dunboyne .... Not worth a thread really ....

Between 1986 to 2001 Meath reached 7 All Ireland senior inter county finals winning 4 titles.
Between 1986 to 2001 Meath reached 0 All Ireland senior club finals.
Between 1970 to 2019 Meath have won 10 leinster senior inter county titles
Between 1970 to 2019 Meath have won 4 leinster club senior titles.
Between 1970 and 2019 Meath have played in 21 leinster senior inter county finals
Between 1970 to 2019 Meath have played in 6 leinster club senior finals
Between 1970 to 2019 Meath have played in 8 All Ireland inter county senior All-Ireland finals
Between 1970 to 2019 Meath have played in 2 All Ireland club senior finals.
The golden age of Meath club football is from 1977 to 1984 when Meath clubs won 3 leinster senior club titles and reached 2 All Ireland finals in early 80s. In the early 80s was lowest ebb for Meath inter county football in last 100 years. While Meath clubs were winning leinster club titles and reaching All Ireland club finals the Meath senior team was heading to div 3 after division 4 teams Longford in 1982 and Wexford in 1981 knocked Meath out of leinster championship. This was the golden era of club football in Meath. After losing to longford in 82 Meath chronicle wtote Meath football RIP. And when Boylan took over one of the biggest issues was the rivalries between the clubs was so intense it was barrier to inter county sucess.
Yes we need to improve clubs and have more sucess outside the provience. But Meath sucess in the past was not built on strong sucessful clubs outside the county. Carlow clubs have won more leinster club titles then Meath, kildare , Offaly , Westmeath or louth. Carlow have 6 leinster club titles, Meath 4 , Offaly 4 , kildare 3 , Westmeath 1 , louth 0 Wexford 0. All the above Counties have had more sucess at intercounty then Carlow.
Carlow 6 leinster Club titles Carlow 1 leinster senior inter county titles
Meath 4 leinster club titles Meath 21 leinster senior inter county titles
U can go on and on showing how Meath football sucess was not built on Meath club winning outside the county.

A few good points furlongs. Worth looking for players all the same. Must be a few lads who cant make top 6 countt teams whod be worth looking at
