you should have opened your eyes yesterday if you were at the game so you would not be picking that team now .

So we will Have a look at your team..

David Gallagher to start seriously come off it
No Brian Conlan-Most Promising Player in the County and have to persist with him
No Donal Lenihan-Best Forward Last year
James Mcentee Half Back-He would Be Cleaned out of it
Graham Reilly And Harry Rooney Midfield-A Fit mobile Midfield would Destroy them
Graham Reilly-Can not play there at this Stage of his life
Eamon Wallace-Not the answer for 11 at all and I Have no idea what your thinking would be
Thomas O"Reilly-Hes not a wing Forward and never will be
Ben Brennan-struggling at this level and Nothing I have seen tells me any Different

It's easy been critical of someone's team, (I was myself but I offered different options.
I would be interested to know who be on your team.

Ok sorry just seen this.
I'm a huge fan of graham Reilly, but I think his days at midfield are behind him , I think he would get destroyed there

our half back line was destroyed yesterday. our goal keeper did not have a good day and his kick outs as been a problem so far all year. Adam at midfield was played out of it yesterday .Harry made a big differences when he came on only a soft black card. midfield is not what is was like years ago and Graham would have the space that he needs to play his own game. Donal kicked away three balls yesterday at a stage of the game where we were getting into to it and is not fit enough yet to start. Ben has not got enough chances yet and everyone was talking about Thomas last year and is now not good enough because he had a bad half against roscommon. and if David is not fit to play in goals why is he there

Colgan
Lavin (Played well against Roscommon bar one or two minor errors)
McGill (Best Full back in the county and more than cpable of marking Quinlavin)
Keoghan (One of the best in the county in this position and need for taking Tipps danger corner forward)
Conlon (Still not convinced by him but willing to give him the nod over McEntee)
Power
O Neill (Has impressed when coming on and has an eye for a score)
Menton (No Brainer)
Flanagan (Again not overly convinced but Rooney not fit enough yet imo)
J Mcentee (One bad game doesn't make a bad player, did well against Roscommon)
O Sullivan
E Wallace (starting to show a bit of consistant form in terms of taking scores and not shooting aimlessly)
McKeever (Best position is on the inside line, but is capable of playing on the 40 if needed)
Lenihan (Best forward for county last year)
G Reilly/McMahon/J Wallace

Two man FF line, if McMahon starts then I would bring McKeever out to CF and give O Sullivan a free Role of sorts to pick up ball and drive at goal. If either Reily or Wallace starts I would give them that free role, leaving McKeever and Lenihan inside. The reason I have it between those 3 for the last starting spot is because with their pace any one of them would be devastating coming on for the last 15-20 minutes along with the likes of Tobin.

I'd like to see McKeever and Lenihan tried inside together. To best club forwards by a mile over the last few years and both have excellent movement, could compliment each other well.

It will be very interesting to see if Andy continues to pick Shane on the half back line. Contrast the ongoing opportunities he has had with Alan Douglas who played well when he was started in the O'Byrne cup but then not played since.

McEntee was poor last weekend and against Roscommon but played pretty well against a very poor Clare side which probably justified his selection (in Andy's mind) for the Cavan game.

Very hard to pick a team though without including players that struggled against cavan but here goes:

1.Andrew Colgan.

2.Seamas Lavin
3.Conor McGill
4.Dan O'Neill

5.Brian Power
6.Donal Keoghan
7.Brian Conlan

8.Bryan Menton
9. Harry Rooney

10. Eamon Wallace
11. Padraig McKeever
12. Cillian O'Sullivan

13. Graham Reilly
14. Donal Lenihan
15. Joey Wallace

There is a fair bit of speed and movement in that forward line. I would also be thinking in terms of a two man inside line with Reilly coming out to half forward.

Colgan

Lavin
McGill
Burke

Keogan
Power
O'Neill

Menton
Flanagan

Brennan
McKeever
Wallace

Tobin
O'Sullivan
Lenihan

That's the side I think I'd like to see on Saturday night.

O'Sullivan and Tobin could swap in and out as we play a 2 man inside forward line.

Joey Wallace is injured I believe - heard he will be out for a couple of months at least!

Not Shane McEntees biggest fan but I thought he was one of our better performers against Cavan. In fairness to him he is always an option for the ball and works very hard. He is always going to be fighting a losing battle, he has to play out of his skin every game in order to justify his selection. Remember he was U21 captain under Sean Barry and was involved under Micko so its not as if Andy has introduced him out of nowhere
