Na Fianna 0-08 Clonkill 3-08
The journey for Meath senior cámogs champions Na Fianna came to and end as Clonkill (Westmeath) built their victory on a highly effective goal-scoring performance hitting three impressive goals in the second half in this Leinster Camogie Intermediate quarter final at Lomans Park Trim.
The old saying of goals win matches was a painful reality for our camogs as Clonkill’s ability to find the back of the net proved to be the absolute difference maker. Na Fianna battled throughout but were unable to curtail the talented Megan Dowdall - who had the umpires extremely busy, delivering a phenomenal individual tally of 2-08.
Na Fianna entered the competition on the back of a five-in-a-row Meath championship and 2025 Leinster finalists, so they definitely didn't underestimate the challenge they had heading into the game. Clonkill too brought exceptional form after successfully defending their own Westmeath crown in a dominant back-to-back title win over Raharney.
While the Leinster campaign ends here, the girls have had an outstanding year to be proud of and no doubt will be taking a well earned rest now before they regroup and start planning for trying to add a 6th county title in 2027.
