With five minutes remaining in this pulsating senior hurling championship round 5 clash at Dunganny, Trim had narrowed Ratoath’s lead to one, 2-13 to 0-20. Three goals from substitute Eoin Flanagan before the full time whistle sealed a place in the semi final against Kiltale for the Jubilee Cup holders. 

Ciaran O’Hanrahan and Jack McGowan gave Ratoath and early lead but by the end of the first quarter Trim lead 0-7 to 0-5. With the McGowan's and the O’Hanrahan’s to the fore Ratoath began to take control and led 0-14 to 0-8 at the break. 

A brace from Podge McGowan extended that lead early in the second half. A Mikey Cole goal narrowed the gap to four as the last quarter approached. Scores from Cian Rogers (2), Daithi McGowan and Rob Hayes opened up a 0-20 to 1-11 lead with ten minutes remaining. James Murray found the back of the Ratoath net as the game entered the last five minutes and a point from Alan Douglas made it a one point game. Ratoath looked in trouble until Flanagan’s intervention with three outstanding goals before the final whistle.
