Dunshaughlin & Royal Gaels is delighted to announce that our recent Film Awards Fundraiser has exceeded all expectations, successfully reaching its overall target and netting just over €100,050 after all deductions and costs.
This incredible achievement was only possible because of the enormous effort and goodwill shown by our entire community. The organising committee worked tirelessly for more than six months to bring the event to life, and their dedication was matched by the enthusiasm and creativity of everyone involved.
From the actors who took part, to our generous sponsors, to those who opened their homes and businesses for filming, every contribution mattered. We would also like to thank everyone who attended on the night, bought tickets, cast votes, entered the raffle, and fully embraced the spirit of the event. And to those who were unexpectedly alarmed during the “bank robbery” scene — our sincere apologies!
The night itself will long be remembered as one of the most enjoyable and entertaining events the club has ever hosted. Even weeks later, people are still talking about it — a true sign of its success. More importantly, it highlighted what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared goal.
What Happens Next?
As many will know, the purpose of the fundraiser was to help the club acquire additional land. We have simply outgrown our current facilities. With 30 teams to cater for, the demand on pitches continues to grow, particularly as spring approaches and teams return to full training and competitive play.
The funds raised will be ring-fenced and held securely while we work to identify land that can properly meet our current and future needs. Exploratory work is already underway by the club, and conversations have taken place with a number of parties as we search for suitable space and find out what, if any, may be available.
We are committed to keeping everyone informed as plans develop and will provide updates as soon as there is news to share.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who played a part. This success belongs to the whole community.
