In his side's two O'Byrne Cup games against Wicklow and Offaly, Meath manager Robbie Brennan got the opportunity to cast his eyes on 19 'new' players as he looks to strengthen the squad further.

In all, 30 players experienced some form of game time, with Diarmuid Moriarty finishing top scorer with 1-8, while Skryne’s Niall Finnerty was top debutant scorer with 0-5.

There was a welcome return to action for midfield stalwart Bryan Menton who made his 150th senior appearance for the Royals in last night's quarter-final clash against Offaly.
