2025 will go down as a very good year for Meath GAA.
Robbie Brennan guided Meath to a first All Ireland SFC semi final since 2009. That magical journey included ending Dublin’s reign in Leinster, a win over future Sam Maguire Cup winners Kerry and a quarter final victory over Connacht champions Galway.
The change in the football rules gave a new lease of life to the club scene. Crowds were way up for all championship games. Summerhill claimed their ninth Keegan Cup title at Ratoath’s expense. Kilbride completed their journey back to the senior ranks with after a memorable IFC campaign. Clann na nGael justified their favourites tag in the Junior A while St. Mary’s savoured success in the Junior B.
The hurling provided loads of excitement also. Ratoath made it back to back Jubilee Cup wins. The holders needed a replay to see of Kiltale. The drawn encounter will go down as one of the best county finals ever. There was Intermediate success for north Meath combination Kilskyre/Moylagh while Kiltale and Na Fianna took home the Junior grades.
As is now customary the team at HS Meath finished 2025 with their awards.
