HS Meath Awards: JFC Team of the Year

December 22, 2025

St. Vincents and Clann na nGael contested the JFC final

Clann na nGael were crowned Meath Junior Football Championship winners for the first time since 2019.

The Athboy Rathcairn combination had two points to spare over St. Vincents in perfect conditions at Pairc Tailteann. Niall McLoughlin’s men reached the Division 3 FL final, losing out to Walterstown and also won the Comortas Peile Junior title on home soil in Rathcairn.

For the second year running St. Vincents fell short at the last hurdle. The Ardcath men qualified from Group A, before beating Moylagh in the quarter final and Ballinlough, after extra time, in the semifinal. Slane showed remarkable improvement in 2025. Martin Barrett’s men reached the Division 4 final, losing out to Intermediate side Castletown and advanced to the last four of the championship as Group A winners. Ballinlough advanced to the last four after three comfortable wins in Group B but bowed out after extra time to St. Vincents at Dunganny. Moylagh and Dunderry progressed from their groups but lost out at the quarter final stage.

Kilmainham will ply their trade in the Junior B championship next year after losing out to Carnaross in the relegation final at Ballinlough.
