
After waiting 61 years for one Ratoath made it back-to-back Jubilee Cup titles after a replay win over Kiltale at Pairc Tailteann.
Those who attended the drawn match were treated to a thrilling game of hurling. With two minutes of injury time to be played Fearghal McCabe was on hand to finished to the net after a goalmouth scramble and Kiltale were one up. The holders showed their battling qualities and just before Mark Reilly’s final whistle Podge O’Hanrahan send over the equaliser to set up a mouthwatering replay. Ratoath made no mistake in the replay recording a 2-22 to 4-10 win a week later at the Navan venue. Trim defeated Kildalkey and Kiltale beat Na Fianna in the quarter finals. John Donoghue’s men had too much for Kilmessan in the semi final with eventual winners Ratoath needed five goals to eventually see of the Trim challenge.
Having won the Davis Cup at the end of April, Killyon rounded off a very successful year by beating Longwood 3-13 to 1-12 after a replay in the Senior B decider. The sides finished 0-13 apiece in woeful conditions a week before at Pairc Tailteann.
