St. Colmcilles S.N.S. were crowned Meath Cumann na mBunscol Boys Division 1 winners for the third year in a row after this two goal win over Ratoath S.N.S. at Lomans Park Trim.

The holders set up victory in the opening half. Playing with the wind they led 2-3 to 0-2 at the break. Joe Devine got them on the scoreboard first with a point and soon after Darragh Gogarty and Fionn Harte were in for goals. Gogarty and Fionn Arkins added points and the Kells boys went to the break in control.

Gogarty extended that lead to ten with a goal in the opening minutes of the second half before Ratoath enjoyed a spell of dominance. Evan Kelly kicked a point and Greg Campbell added a goal to narrow the gap. Any hopes of a comeback were dashed soon after. Three unanswered points from Gogarty, and Fionn Harte (2) set the Maeve Briody, Paula Newman and Louise Carey coached outfit up for an historic three in a row.

After the game Francis Flynn presented the Division 1 Cup to St. Colmcilles captain Fionn Harte.
