The winners had the cup in the bag before the short whistle thanks to an excellent opening 30 minutes.
The outstanding Milo Stafford got Klimainhamwood off to a great start with a two pointer. The team captain added another six points before the break. Midfielder Matthew Vaughan also enjoyed a brilliant opening half and registered 2-2. Corner forward Anthony Vaughan raised their third green flag just before the break and Kilmainhamwood brought a healthy 3-13 to 0-4 lead to the dressing room.
The half time talk worked with St. Mary’s and they outscored the Wood 1-7 to 1-3 in the second half. The Donore side fresh from watching their seniors the day before in Pairc Tailteann were thrown a lifeline in the opening minute with a Tom Hynes goal. His midfield partner Callum Reilly added three points and along with a two pointer from centre forward Dylan Craig Kilmainhamwood were under a bit of pressure for the first time in the game. Vaughan eased their worries with his third goal and from there on there was only going to be one winner.
After the game Minor Board Secretary David Campbell presented the Michael Reynolds Memorial Cup to Milo Stafford.
