St Brigids 0-23 Carnaross 2-11

St Brigids welcomed Carnaross to Ballinacree on Sunday morning in the second round of the Tailteann Cup.

Carnaross started brightly and by the fifteenth minute had a healthy advantage with the scoreboard reading 1-08 to 0-04 in favour of the visitors. Brigids kept plugging away though and by halftime had the deficit down to four points 1-08 to 0-07.

Carnaross opened the scoring for the second period with a point but Brigids hit their purple patch hitting 10 points without reply to move into a five point advantage with fifteen minutes left to play. Minutes later Carnaross got through the well marshalled Brigids defence for a goal to tighten up affairs on the scoreboard and maybe start a comeback of sorts. Brigids didn't panic though and stuck to their gameplan and knocked over six more minors to put the game out of Carnaross's reach. Carnaross hit two late points the leave the final tally reading St Brigids 0-23 to Carnaross's 2-11.
