Has this ever happened before?

By pure chance, All-Ireland JFC final opponents New York and London stayed in the same hotel over the weekend. They both checked into the Clayton Hotel in Liffey Valley ahead of their respective All-Ireland semi-finals against Warwickshire and USGAA at nearby Abbotstown on Friday evening.

As it transpired, they both qualified for yesterday’s final which New York won 0-13 to 0-12 to retain their title. New York, whose team like London's is made up entirely of homegrown players, will fly back to the States a day later than expected after their flight was affected by the Aer Lingus pilots' pay dispute.
