New York are All-Ireland junior football champions for the second year in-a-row thanks to a 0-13 to 0-12 victory over London at Croke Park this afternoon.

Patrick Mulvihill’s men came good in the second-half to edge their fellow Exiles by a point and retain the title at headquarters.

The sides had been level at 0-6 apiece at the end of an airtight first-half, with two well struck frees from Noel Maher ensuring that London went in all square at the break.

Rhys Lennon and Charlie Sheehan exchanges points early in the restart to keep things even before London were reduced to 14 men with the dismissal of midfielder Ryan O’Connell in the 41st minute.

Brian McDaid struck over a brace of points for New York after that and another from Jake Rispin helped move them up to a 0-13 to 0-8 lead.

London would come with a late push that saw points registered via Ryan Kearney (2), Sean Hickey and Aidan McGarvey, but they finished one short in the end as New York retained their crown.
